The Nightmare

Ratchet's pov

It was a couple weeks after the results came in and I was trying to figure out how I could help. Just even a little. I thought of everything to help. Then I remembered that Jenny had a few other relatives that she could find out from. And i could wait until morning because she is in protective custody. I sometimes wonder if doing protective custody duty is the best way to keep her away from that mother of hers. When Jenny woke up the next day, I started to drill her about her other relatives. I almost yelled at her for not giving me the answer until I saw that she started to tear up. Jenny looked at me for a second and then she said with sadness " Sorry Ratchet, My aunts and uncles might know."

Jenny's pov

I started to tear up because Ratchet didn't know I had a bad day of school. But I answered him before he got too snippy about it. I said to him while wiping my tears away, " Sorry Ratchet, My aunts and uncles might know." So I ask him if he could give me a ride. He was silent for a minute. He was about to respond when Optimus came in and asked him, "Ratchet, do you have a minute?" Ratchet says to him with confusion, "Sure." After about 4 minutes, Ratchet comes back in and asks me if I wanted to get a ride from Optimus. I grinn and say, "Sure."

Optimus after about 10 minutes into the drive asks me if I knew of anything dealing with my mother's work. I told him I didn't understand half the things they talked about. He then asked me if I was in any programs with MECH. I told him that they were trying to convince me to come and join their agency. He was silent after that question. He then spoke up after about 2 hours of being on the road. He told me in a concerning tone, "I found out it's going to be about 4-5 days before we get to your first relative's house. Do you want me to use to the short way or the longer way?" I told him just as I was about to fall asleep, " Longer way." The nice thing about Optimus on that trip was that after 2 more hours on the road after I fell asleep, he would go behind a bunch of mountains and he would recharge himself (sleep) with me.

Dream sequence: Jenny

I'm playing and I hear a bunch of yelling. I look up and see my "stepdad" beating and argueing with my mommy. He was saying things like, " Where's your little Orion now!!!" My mom is looking at me and crying. And then my dad finally knocks her out. He looks over and sees me. He runs after me. I just keep running. Until.... I hit a metallic leg. I look up and it's Optimus. He looks down and he goes away while trying to reach for me. My stepdad actually manages to get me and he's about to punch me when I wake up.....

Jenny's pov

I wake up to me screaming and Optimus trying to wake me up while in his regular form. He was as big. Probably the size of my 3 story house. He trys dipping me in a lake. I finally open my eyes to see him asking me, " Are you ok, Jenny?" I just keep looking around to see if my stepdad was really there hitting me. I look up and say, " it's nothing, just a nightmare." "How about you tell me what happened." Optimus said with a grin. He looked like he wanted to help me.

"And then i'm being punched over and over again, until I wake up." As I finished, he looked down and said to me, " I'm really sorry you had that dream. Did that really happen?" He looked at me waiting for a answer. I was embaressed about it. I nodded to him sadly yes. He then transformed and said, " How about we go get you something to refresh your throat." I perked up right away and said, " Sure."
