The Mirror

I am drawn to this insidious mirror
That has wrapped it's cold metal around me
As if it were a venomous python

But sometimes it's grip will loosen
Showing me of a past beauty
A beauty that has withered away

As the saying goes
"Wear your heart on your sleeve"
And what a grave mistake indeed

My heart savagely ripped away
Like a hunter to the prey

Until I met her.

I lived through her eyes.
Her heart
Her soul
Her laugh

But I wasn't enough for her.

Now I am forced to face my mistakes.

My souless eyes stare back at me replay terrorizing memories.

Of Her.

I must shatter this mirror. Shatter the memory.
