26: All I Want For Christmas

“Harry! Have you finished putting up the Christmas tree yet?!” Eleanor calls from downstairs.

“Yeah!” I lie because I’m too lazy to do anything. I hear stomping footsteps coming from down stairs and upstairs and all the girls meet in front of me.

“No you have not, Styles.” Perrie says, raising an eyebrow. My cheeks heat up as Danielle holds the box of Christmas tree decorations in her hands, struggling to keep it up as well.

“You havn’t even put up the damn tree yet and the party is tonight?!” Danielle freaks and all three of the girls hurry over to the spot they chose for the tree. Danielle puts the box of decorations down while the two others lift the freshly cut tree that Louis and Liam cut and they set it in place, then put stands around the trunk.

“Harry, be a good help and grab the blankets on the couch, would you?” El orders. Wow, are they ever stressed. I obey and hobble over to the blankets, then walk over to the tree to wrap them around the trunk.

“Perfect!” They all chirp and quickly move to the box of decorations.

“Harry,” Perrie starts and I roll my eyes. “Go check on the appetizers in the oven please? And stop complaining, just because the rest of the boys went grocerie shopping, doesn’t mean you don’t get to do anything while you’re here.” She’s got a point. I snort and make my way to the kitchen. It smells amazing in here. I never knew the girls could cook this well, mostly because I’m so amazing at it myself. I smile at my mental comment. It’s true! I’m pretty good I must say. I open the silver oven and let my nose take the smell in. I don’t know who but, someone made stuffed mushrooms. Yes! “How the mushrooms looking?!” Perrie asks from the living room.

“They look good! Hide them from Niall though, he might eat ‘em all.” I say as I walk back into the living room. All the girls giggle and I notice they’re having trouble with the garland. “Need help?” They all frantically nod yes, I chuckle and instantly start wrapping as the rest of the lads arrive back home.

“Tree looks… AMAZING.” Louis says as he wraps his girlfriend into a hug.

“It’s gorgeous, just like you.” Liam adds as he gives his girlfriend a kiss.

“Damn. We should just put you at the top of the tree. That would be the best part.” Zayn finishes as he picks up Perrie and twirls her around, smiling and staring into her eyes.

Everyone is so happy. I smile and all of a sudden, Niall comes over and lifts me up.

“Hey, beautiful.” He jokes to add on to the row of couples. Everyone bursts out laughing.

“Oh, by the way, Haz, Something in the mail came for you.” Liam states. He pulls out an enveloppe from his pocket and gives me a big smile. It has my name beautifully writen in cursive on the front. I frantically rip it open and take the lined paper out. I start to read it outloud.

Sorry I didn’t get to you a lot sooner. Things are kind of hectic, you know? I’m moving and I’ve been packing. A lot. Maybe I’ll text you when I’m done moving so, next week should do it. I’ll talk to you later.

That’s it?! That’s all she had to say?! I clench my jaw and crumple the paper into a ball, instantly throwing it on the ground and I burst up the stairs.

“Harry! Come back!”  Liam calls after me but, I ignore him. Now I know she read the letter and clearly she didn’t have anything to say! I poored out all my feelings into that letter and all she says is I’ll Text You Later?! “Lad! Come back down stairs! People are arriving!”
