It didn't take Onyx long to arrive to Tasir as she was flying in hyper speed, once she reached the city a force field around the city forced her to enter from the front gate. Being cleared by security Onyx made her way to the tourist desk. "Welcome to Tasir fellow gem, how can I direct you." "I'm looking for a blacksmith, she's a Citrine, red hair with a white strand?" Onyx asks. "Very specific, but everyone knows Citrine she's the best blacksmith in the land." The receptionist points Onyx to the district she'd find Citrine and Onyx wastes no time heading towards the southern district. She located the shop and made her way to the booth. "Good day to you how I can help you?" An Amethyst says. "I'm looking for Citrine." Onyx replies. "Everyone is these days." Amethyst says going back to get Citrine. She comes forward and address Onyx. "What can I do for you miss?" "Onyx, and I'm looking for your special services, and to make a friend." Onyx says and Citrine perks her brow. "And how do you intend on doing that?" "Let me inside and I'll show you." Onyx says challenging her. "It would be in your best interest if you don't want commotion to start. Not threatening, just a suggestion." Onyx says and Citrine looks her over. "Well you look more appealing than threatening but I never doubt an Onyx. Come in." She says Onyx smiling as she enters Citrine's office area. "So services or business first?" Onyx asks. "Services." Citrine replies and Onyx summons her bow. "Oh shit a bow wielder." Citrine says taking Onyx's bow and examines it. "Standard bow though. Looking for a full upgrade?" "Depends on the cost." "We'll discuss that after business, if you do become friend that will change." Onyx nods. "I will assume you are proficient in bow usage." "I am, until recently a team member that I spar with brought a weakness to my attention that I needed to address." "Oh?" "I'm not to good at close range combat with a bow, if they stay in my face I can't use my bow for nothing more than a shield." "That my dear Onyx, is where you are wrong." Citrine says and Onyx perks a brow. "With your bow in it's current state yes. But with these enhancements, you'll be good at any range as long as the numbers are manageable." Citirine says as she finishes her upgrades. Nothing new to it's appearance except the presence of blades along it's wings. "A normal bow is ok, but a bladed bow does wonders. A self defensive measure, if someone gets too close not exactly a sword but more of a fan blade." Onyx nods examining her bow. "Increased the arrow categories so you have more variety and more to use against humans." "Perfect." "So continue the story, you needed to address this weakness so you?" "I went to find a new weapon, my teammate considered I might be able to hold a second weapon due to my skill." Citrine nods sitting on the table listening. "So I went out to search for a weapon that called out to me and one did just that." Onyx says standing up. "But that's were the business comes in. There's a history behind this weapon that apparently only you know about." Onyx says summoning the Chakram. The moment she laid eyes on it Citrine in a blur she forced everyone else out the area and into the shop area and shut her door. "How?" She asked. "One piece found in a weapon shop, given up for curiosity. Second piece held in a museum held for use against Serendibite by a man named Denmar, he's dead now though." Onyx says. "Good." Citrine says taking the Chakram from Onyx and laying it on her table. "The blade called out to you and accepted you to wield it. You must have a connection to Black Diamond." "I do, she is my Diamond, and I'm one of her special gems." "Of course." Citrine says. "Listen Onyx. You're a Homeworlder so I know this isn't something you want to hear, but Black Diamond hasn't told you anything true about Serendibite." "She hasn't told me anything at all, beside she used to be really close to her." "She did until Serendibite turned on Homeworld during the war. At least that's what Black Diamond and those that survived believe." "So what is the truth, Citrine?" "She was being controlled. But that's not for me to tell. You be best to hear it out of Serendibite's mouth herself. I need you to go save her." "Where is she?" "In Embercliff, the most anti gem city of them all. She's held captive in a fortress that lies in the center of the city. Show them the weapon and feint compliance it might be easier for you." "I will make sure she leaves Embercliff alive." Onyx says. "Do so and you will have earned my friendship, and any services I can offer you is free." Onyx nods making her way out. "Be careful Onyx, news of Denmar's death should have reached Vanderville by now and if they have evidence you'll be hunted." "Thanks for the warning." Citrine nods as Onyx leaves, heading out from Tasir and heading her way to Embercliff. It was night time by time she arrived Onyx using this darkness to sneak around the city. Able to climb up the border walls and take out one of the patrol guards on the watch tower she located the fortress. Dumping the body into a bush Onyx began her way to the Fortress jumping on rooftops. Once she was in range she had a spy bot scan the area, finding the location of Serendibite and all the sleeping and patrol guards. Serendibite was pretty isolated from the guards so it was easy for Onyx to sneak inside the tower she was in. Serendibite cell however was under complete 360 surveillance so Onyx used her bot to hack into the camera network and put it on a static shot so she could successfully sneak in. Picking the locks to her gate and then her cell Onyx closed the doors behind her and made her way to Serendibite. She was idle in what Onyx sees was a protective shell. Serendibite must have been in stasis as she wasn't moving. Onyx scanned Serendibite and set up a chip to project a hologram of Serendibite as a decoy while she frees her. Onyx summoned the Chakram and quickly sliced the barrier open causing it to dissipate and the sliced Serendibite destabilizing her before she could awake and bubbled her gem and sent it to her home. Quietly making her way back out and removing the static feed from the security cameras Onyx quickly made her way back north to San Delros. Sodalite and Spinel weren't home when Onyx returned so she grabbed Serendibite's gem and sat it on her floor. Moments later Serendibite reforms and looks around panicked and Onyx calms her. "Serendibite it's ok its just me here. I saved you from those humans." Serendibite looks around and sighs a heavy sigh of relief before embracing Onyx. "Thank you." She cried into Onyx shoulder. Giving Serendibite time to collect herself Onyx finally spoke once she stopped crying. "Serendibite I need you to explain something to me, if you can." Onyx asks Serendibite pulling away from Onyx. "Yes anything for you saving me." "What exactly happened here and who are you?" "I'm Serendibite as you know, also known here as the savior of earth, or the traitor of Homeworld. Long story short, I was sieging earth with Homeworld and was forced to turn against them. Humans captured me and forced a contraption upon me that let them control my gem. Turning me against my fellow gems, and Black Diamond. Of course Black Diamond didn't believe it so she tried to reach out to me when Homeworld retreated still under their control they forced me to say everything she didn't want to hear and even broke her down to tears as they made me belittle our relationship. But to her she couldn't see anything but me, so it looked sincere and she was broken. One day the contraption had malfunctioned and it broke down freeing me and before they could do anything I summoned my chakram to put a protective barrier around myself and split my chakram and made some nearby gems run off with them and hide them somewhere. They won' be able to hurt me unless the found both blades and a willing gem to try to take control of it to put them back together to break my barrier." Serendibite says looking at Onyx. "And by the looks of you, you aren't working for the humans nor the gems here." She says spotting Black Diamond's crest on her collar. "Black Diamond sent you." She says quietly. "Onyx please here me out." Onyx stops her. "I don't need to hear you out, you told me the truth." Onyx says. "Black Diamond isn't expecting me to return with you for a long time so until that time, would you train me to use the chakram?" Serendibite smiles brightly. "For you Onyx yes I will." Onyx smiles and hugs Serendibite. "I think Black Diamond will understand if we can get past her anger. But we'll address that then for now you need to rest and relax you've been in stasis for many years." "Oh I wasn't in stasis I was just sleeping, humans had long ago showed me the joys of sleeping. I wasn't expecting a visitor so when I felt my barrier get penetrated by time I was opening my eyes I was being destabilized." "Yeah sorry about that I didn't want any risks." "No worries Onyx I am in your debt, whatever I can do for you until I return to my beloved Diamond." Onyx nods. "For now you train me, and maybe help out the team." Serendibite nods. "Um I don't really have space for you to sleep but if you want you can have a room within my temple." Onyx says pointing to the gem door. "That would be lovely Onyx thank you." She says going towards the door to create her room. Serendibite slips into her newly created room and Onyx sits on the couch meditating. Late into the afternoon of the following day Sodalite and Spinel return home to see Onyx and a new gem meditating. Onyx opens her eyes to see them and smiles. "Welcome back she says softly standing up while Serendibite turns towards them and bows. "I'm Serendibite it is a pleasure to meet your acquaintance Sodalite and Spinel." She says and the two return the bow. "Serendibite is who I was after for Black Diamond." Onyx says. "So while my mission is technically complete, I won't report to Black Diamond for a long while." Onyx says Sodalite sighing in relief and Spinel smiling. "Well it is a pleasure to meet you Serendibite." Sodalite says. "Well now there's three servants of Black Diamond around." Spinel says. "Three?" Serendibite asks. "Yeah there is another that is in the team, she's away on a job right now but I will introduce you when she returns." Onyx says. "She was given her freedom to do as she pleases for serving Black Diamond and having only failed her once, after a long tenure of service." "That is proof Black Diamond cares for us." Serendibite says with a smile. "I can only hope she'll allow me to explain what happened and will forgive me." Onyx pats Serendibite. "I'm sure with me there she will." Serendibite smiles. The four of them sit and Onyx explains everything that happened between Tasir and Embercliff. "Sounds like you had quiet the adventure Onyx." Sodalite says. "It was fun I'll admit, been a long time since I infiltrated a fortress but they'd become so relaxed having held Serendibite for such a long time that it was an easy rescue mission." Onyx says. "But Serendibite I do need to take you to Tasir to Citrine, she wanted me to ensure your safe escape even though that was my plan anyway, is she special to you?" Serendibite nods. "Citrine is like a sister to me. Even being an entirely different gem. If it wasn't for my relationship with Black Diamond we'd have been together." Onyx, Sodalite, and Spinel eyes go wide. "Wait, you mean to tell me you and Black Diamond were, a couple???" Onyx asks and Serendibite nods blushing. "Diamonds are usually against romantic relationships with lesser gems but Black Diamond seemed to favor me. We grew close and I got too comfortable with her and kissed her one day. She was stunned and I had realized what I had done and begged her to forgive me, but she just told me to stand up and she kissed me back. Of course I wasn't allowed to tell anyone but I didn't feel comfortable doing so anyway." Serendibite says and the others listen. "She sent me on recon here and when it was time for war I fought by her side, but the commotion of battle separated us and I got capture by a neutralizing device and you know the rest." They nod and Serendibite sighs. "But that's enough about the past I need to look towards the future and right now that entails teaching Onyx the ways of the Chakram." She says standing and Onyx following suit. "We shall begin your training." Onyx nods with a determined smile. Heading outside the snow had accumulated a nice layer on top of the sand Serendibite taking a long breath. "How I miss the scent of nature." She says softly walking down into the snow running her fingers through it. "Yeah you've been locked up for quiet a while." "Never again." Serendibite says. "I won't let another human take my freedom." She says turning to Onyx. "This is perfect. Chakram centers around balance, and you have snow on top of sand. Master your balance and technique here and you will be flawless on solid ground." Onyx nods summoning the Chakram. Being transferred to Onyx the appearance of the Chakram changed from what it was when Serendibite had it. "Gave it a personal touch I see." Onyx nods. "Weapons are special to me so I make the effort to make them feel apart of me." "You are a special type of Onyx that's for sure." Serendibite says and Onyx blushes a little. As they begun training and Spinel notices something. "Hey Sodalite, I just noticed something disturbing about Serendibite." Sodalite looks confused and walks over looking at her and Onyx. "What is it Spinel?" "Anything look familiar about Serendibite?" Sodalite looks at Serendibite for a long moment. Not noticing anything at first then it hit her. "She looks like the old Onyx." Sodalite says shocked. "Didn't Onyx say her previous form was at the request of Black Diamond? I think it was less of a service requirement but more of the fact that she couldn't get over Serendibite." Sodalite nods. "Seems that way now that you mention it." Spinel continued to watch them train, Sodalite going to make some tea. Serendibite was quiet surprised at how Onyx was handling the balance exercises. Calling an end to the session judging that Onyx already had mastered the art of balance she would train her in the combat style of the Chakram. Going back inside the house to the scent of freshly brewed tea Onyx sighed and smiled. "Hope you don't mind the smell Sodalite likes to brew tea for us to drink." "Not at all Onyx this smell is soothing." Serendibite replies. Everyone sitting on the couch with a cup of tea Spinel kept looking back and forth between Onyx and Serendibite. "Something the matter Spinel?" Serendibite asks noticing. Spinel finishing her sip of tea and nods. "Yeah something is bothering me. Nothing that's your fault rest assured." Serendibite smiles and Onyx perks her brow. "What's up love?" She asks. "Onyx take a look at Serendibite and tell me you don't see the issue." Spinel says Onyx got up to sit next to Spinel to look at Serendibite who was smiling with a light blush. It took Onyx a minute but once she realized it, her demeanor changed. "Excuse me a minute I need to go take a walk." She said with a blank expression. Spinel followed her and Sodalite sighed. "What's going on?" Serendibite asks confused. "It's not your fault Serendibite but let me explain. Onyx wasn't always how she looks now. She used to look like you. The problem is, Black Diamond made her change her appearance to look like you, so I don't think she ever truly got over you which is good news for you. Onyx is upset because it seems like Black Diamond was just trying to recreate something and not let Onyx be herself. Under the ruse of it was a form to better serve her." "Oh. I... I'm sorry." Serendibite says. "Again it's not your fault." Sodalite says sitting next to Serendibite. "She'll be ok she just needs to vent and Spinel is with her." Serendibite nods. Onyx had climbed up the hill and was sitting along it's edge Spinel sitting at her side. "Sorry Onyx it was bothering me and I needed to let you know." Onyx shook her head. "No need to be sorry Spinel, I appreciate you pointing that out to me. I just... don't understand why. Why would she make me look like Serendibite?" "I think it's because she couldn't get over her. Serendibite against her will broke Black Diamond and shattered her feelings. It's a pain that no matter what when someone means that much to you it's impossible to forget about them. I tried to do that with you for decades and it got me nowhere." Spinel says leaning on Onyx's shoulder. "If it wasn't for Cherry and you two she'd tried to form a romantic relationship with me. I'm nothing but a second Serendibite to her." Onyx says punching the ground. "It's ok Onyx, you can address it when you see her." Onyx says calming herself. Spinel leaned up to kiss Onyx on her cheek and Onyx turns and they share a few kisses. "Thanks Spinel." Onyx says with a smile. "Always here for you Onyx." Spinel says. Onyx jumped back down the hill with Spinel and went back inside the house. "Sorry about that just need to wrap my head around the situation." Onyx says. "I'm sorry Onyx I didn't..." Serendibite says but Onyx cuts her off. "Not your fault Serendibite I'll address this when I see her again." Serendibite smiles then nods the group returning to sipping on tea and chatting. Over the few weeks Serendibite continues training Onyx while Sodalite and Spinel did jobs. It didn't take long for Onyx to get the handle of her new weapon and soon would be ready challenge Serendibite to a duel to confirm her skills of the Chakram blade. Benitoite and Hematite would be returning from there job soon but the team wasn't prepared for what was coming.
