The following morning I definitely felt the bruising. After many attempts I was able to push myself out of the comfort of my bed and follow the scent of coffee that wafted in from downstairs.

"Toast, I made toast," I heard jenna announce as I walked in the kitchen.

"It's all about the coffee jenna," elena said grabbing a mug.

Moments later jeremy came bouncing down the stairs, each step a heavy thud. He took the coffee from elena's hands taking a sip. Elena stared at him with obvious annoyance before turning around and making another one.

Jenna held up a few ones. "Lunch money?" jeremy takes it from her. I had a feeling he would not be spending it on lunch.

"Hey don't you have that presentation today?" asks Elena.

"Yes. Im meeting with my thesis advisor," she looks to the clock, "now crap."

I grabbed the new mug from Elena's hands taking a sip. She stares aghast. "Does no one know how to get their own coffee?" She turns to make another one.

I bob my head at jenna. "Go, I'll get them taken care of." She nods thankful before her eyes widen.

"What happened to your jaw!"

"Oh, yeah, that," I rub my jaw where the girl in the ring punched me the night before, "I crashed on my bike."

She rolled her eyes, "That things a death contraption. It's going to get you killed."

"I think It's sick," Jermey piped up from behind me. I winked at him.

Jenna shook her head as she grabbed the Keys, pecked me on the cheek and rushed out the door. Elena turned to Jermey and I immediately knew what she was going to say before the words came out of her mouth. I internally groaned.

"Are you okay?"

"Don't start," he brushes past her to where I sit on the Island. We share a look that shows how exhausted we are with the question. Jermey, like myself, would rather stick a fork to the eye than sit down and talk about our feelings. We were the same in that way, It was why we got along so well. Elena on the other hand would be willing to tell her life story to a stranger.

"You need a ride to school?" I lean over his shoulder to peer at Elena, "you too."

She shakes her head. "No, Bonnie's picking me up."

Jermey shrugs on his bag, "I'll take one."

"Sweet. Lets go." I hope off the counter and grab my keys.

**************

Mystic falls high had not changed one bit since I attended. Same teachers, Same classes and same stupid cliqes. Right now I was worried about which one jermey fit into. Id seen the pills he hid in his room. I needed a way to talk to him without becoming Elena.

He climbed off the bike, taking off his helmet as he did so. "Thanks for the ride."

He started walking away when I grabbed the back of his shirt, "Hey not so fast." He furrowed his brows at me. "Look, I'm not Elena and im not Jenna so I will not be doing the touchy feely things. However," I leaned closer so I could place my threat properly, "If I here you're dealing drugs I will become your worst nightmare." He laughed, shrugging me off.

"Yeah. Right." He continued laughing as he entered the school. I didn't understand it. Demons were scared of me but my little brother laughs at my threats. I began starting my bike up when I felt something. The hair prickled on the back of my neck and chills followed the course of my spine which could only mean one thing. I scanned the faces of the kids piling into the school. No one stood out until I caught the eye of a mysterious stranger. He looked to be around Elena's age but he carried himself in a manner that told me he was older. I began to follow but he disappeared in the river of high school kids.
