It is Saturday, I came mid week and began school yesterday. Kona and I have decided to go to her favorite arcade; it's called Takio-Gamu.
I grabbed Kona's hand, "Chotto mate!" (Wait!) She wrapped her fingers around my wrist and pulled me forward, "Common we're gonna miss the train!" She whined. "Funny that," I thought, "A new train comestible every 90seconds and she's worried about missing it?" I was pulled onto the almost empty train. "While all the adults are at work the train lines are less busy," Kona stated pushing her imaginary glasses back; we both laughed.
We stepped off the train at the 4th stop, pushing our way through the gathering crowd. It was a 2 minute walk upstairs above the train ststion. I could here games and music, laughter; I walked in the sliding doors to find a crazy, hectic, colourful arcade. Full of racing cars, shooting games and Dance Dance Revolution!! "Kona! Wanna go on DDR?" I cheered excitedly. She was busy chatting away to this guy; then she turned around and handed me a card, "It's a free game card, I get them here all the time, so no biggie, okay?" I smiled at her and we ran off to play DDR. "Step, step, back, forward..." Kona chanted as we danced around, hitting continuous combos. "BATTLE MODE!" The game shouted, "CHOOSE YOUR PLAYER!" Kona pointed to me, a crowd gathered around us, "Go go Aussie!" They chanted, Kona stepped down and joined them. I chose my song, 'Super Mario Brother's theme'. "Step, step, side, side, slide...." I thought. The crowd cheered, "MAXIMUM POINTS!" The game yelled as I hit the finishing pose. "Yeah bro!" I yelled, everyone stared, "Aha, never mind," I stepped down and Kona came running up with a box in her hand. "Here," She handed the box to me, "The manager is a friend of mine and he saw your awesome high score, so he told me to give ya this," I opened the box to find the limited edition Kero-chan plushie! "Yay thank you!" I hugged her and we walked to the shooting gallery.
"I'm thinkin'," Kona started, then shot a round, "That we should head out," I shot a round, she continued, "And grab some grub?" I put my gun down and grabbed my prize, a purple mushroom from Super Mario Brothers. We walked out into the steady stream of people to the nearest noodle bar. "Two bowls of miso," Kona shouted to the chef, he was tall with gold hair. "Hey Miss Izumi-san!" He shouted, "Comin' straight up!" He walked over moments later with two decent size bowls of miso soup. I picked up my chopsticks, "Let me know if she needs a fork, okay Konata?" He joked, looking at me, "I can understand you, you know?" He looked a little shocked, "Namae wa?" (What's your name?) "Caitlin desu," I replied, smiling; I began to eat my miso.
Soon enough, we were back on the train on the way home. It was about 6 in the evening, so we had been out all day.
