Ch.8 (Y/n)'s first day as a human

Seto Kaiba's P.O.V

Mokuba and I were walking together down the boardwalk on this lovely morning. I decided to take a few days off of work to spend some time with him. He was indescribably happy like when he gets his present on Christmas day.

It kinda reminded me of (y/n). Her smile brightens me up and clears away the stress I have from work. Her voice and her laughter sound like a melody I would never stop listening to. Her cheerful and vivacious personality made me smile. I love how her face is full of concentration when she starts using her powers or when she is dueling.

I softly smiled as I remembered Mokuba and (y/n) playing together and how they got really close. She was like a mother figure to him, that he really needed.

My train of thought was interrupted by Mokuba calling me. His eyes shone with worry as I looked down at him.

"What's wrong kid?" I asked him in concern.

"(Y-y/n) is on the b-beach and she is unconscious" He stammered. My eyes widen in concern, as I ordered him to take me where he had found her. Various thoughts ran through my head: is she hurt, did another shark attack her, did somebody hurt her...

I clenched my fists at that thought. "If someone even dared to lay a hand on her, I swear I will kill them." I thought angrily as I followed Mokuba to (y/n).

Sure enough, (y/n) was in my line of vision. Immediately, I ran to where she was. And like Mokuba said, she was laying unconscious. I looked around for any injuries and my eyes went to her tail...

Only there wasn't a tail. In place of her (f/c) tail, were two human legs and a skirt of a color her tail used to be. She only had her necklace and (f/c) seashell bra on.

I turned to Mokuba and said to him to call Roland to pick us up. He nodded and started dialling him. I gently picked (y/n) up in my arms, propping her up in a sitting position. I felt her shiver and took my jacket off, covering and warming her petite body.

She stirred and a few strands of hair had fallen in front of her eyes. I gently moved them away and lightly traced my fingers across her cheek. My cheeks heated up as I heard her sigh in content.

"Don't worry (y/n). We will get you home and you will feel better" I mentally made a promise to her. At that very moment, she opened her eyes and let out a groan. She looked at me, her eyes squinting.

"S-seto?" She managed to speak out.

"Shhh. I'm here. You are gonna be okay." I comforted her, knowing that she was in a lot of pain.

She just closed her eyes, and her breathing evened out. I smiled softly at her and held her hand. I looked at her rosy lips that looked soft, and I started to lean in...

"Seto! Roland is here!" Mokuba shouted. I immediately pulled away and picked (y/n) up in bridal style. We got to the car, and gently placed (y/n)'s head in my lap. As Roland kept driving, Mokuba kept his worried gaze at (y/n). Smiling softly, I just reassured him that she will be alright.

"I have to ask her how did she become a human." I made a mental note. We got to the mansion and I gave her to a maid and told her to change her into the most comfortable and warm clothes and lay her in bed.

She just nodded and went to do what I told her to do. I decided that I would let her sleep, then check up on her when she wakes up. All I could do now, was sit and wait.

2 hours later...

(Y/N)'s P.O.V

I woke up with a groan. I opened my eyes to find out that I was in a room. But this isn't my room underwater. Where am I?

Then, the events from last night replayed in my head. I traded my powers for a pair of human legs. So, I'm on land! I looked down and I was wearing a white T-shirt and black pants. The shirt was really big, it covered my whole torso.

Then I saw my legs and feet. I ran my hand down my legs and reached the sole of my foot. I couldn't believe it.... I AM A HUMAN! I just grinned as a Cheshire Cat.

All of a sudden, the door opened and I just gasped. It revealed to be Seto, so I let out a sigh of relief. He closed the door, and took a seat by my bed.

"How are you feeling?" He asked gently.

"Better, thanks" I replied with a smile.

"Good, but how did you all of a sudden grow human legs?" He demanded.

I started telling the story from the scratch. From my fight with my mother to the deal with Sharla. I made sure not to leave out anything. Seto just listened and sat there, abosorbing the very information. After a few minutes of utter silence, he managed to ask me one question.

"Why did you give up something wonderful for a pair of human legs?"

I sighed. "I wanted to see what is like on land where my father was from. I want to know what do they do in the sun, what do they eat, what do they love etc. After Mokuba's stories about his adventures on land, my curiosity began to grew." I said honestly.

"I just want to see what  my father's life was like here. Also I don't want humans to call me a freak 'cause of my powers." I added, tears falling for the first time like waterfall.

Seto just gently wiped my tears away, and looked at me with a gentle smile. He took my hand in his, the warmth quickly spreading.

"It's okay to know something about your genes.  Never ever feel sorry for being curious." He said, comforting me. "Are you ready to stand?"

I nodded and he gently lifted me to my feet. I wobbled and I almost fell, until I collided into something hard. I looked at Seto who was holding me in his arms closer to his chest.

I blushed like a moron, and quickly pulled my way out. He started leading me down the stairs, careful to make sure that I didn't fall.

Mokuba flew right into my arms as I hugged him. I could tell he really missed me and I did miss him too. Mokuba is surely adorable!

"Would you like to watch a movie on TV?" He asked pointing to the giant screen that showed several images.

I nodded and switched on the movie channel. Seto joined us, and we started watching. Throughout the movie, I leaned my head on Seto's shoulder, while Mokuba had his face glued to the screen.

I felt a hand resting on my waist. I looked up at him. I just shrugged and continued to watch the movie. Near the end of the movie, my eyes fluttered close and I went to slumberland.

Seto Kaiba's P.O.V

I looked down at (y/n) who was fast asleep. Her breaths were soft and deep. Soon the movie was over, and Mokuba wished for goodnight. I said goodnight to him and picked (y/n) up. I went to her room and gently laid her down. Then, I gently tucked her in. I stared at her for a while, gently stroking her (h/c) locks, then I stroked her cheek.

To be honest, I was kinda glad that she had gained legs. Now she can experience the dry land, our food and our tradition. I'll try to make three other days great so she doesn't fail this mission. I leaned closer to her face, I was about kiss her lips...

But then, I thought of my actions. I have never done anything without someone's consent. So I just gently kissed her forehead.

I left the room and entered mine. I changed into pyjamas and crawled in bed. An image of a smiling (y/n) entered my mind. Smiling a little, I shut my eyes for a long-needed sleep.

A/N The longest chapter ever. Over 1400 words! So, our CEO has (y/n) live in his mansion. Will he realize his feelings and kiss her before it's too late?
