Don't you hate it when people don't even bother to edit their stories? Would you want to read this:
Katy sat on the bed. She signed. " Nobody likes me. She signed. Katy suddenly fell. A boy with grass green hair held out her hand and helped her out. "Thanks she said.
Probably not, right? Now try reading this edited verse of that paragraph:

Katy rested her head in her hands. " I'm a nobody," she mumbled to herself. "A waste of space." A light touch on Katy's shoulder jerked her attention to something else. A boy, maybe older than she was met her eyes then glanced away. "You know," he croaked in a rough voice," you shouldn't beat yourself up like that."
Better huh? Well don't make that mistake, and don't bother to edit your story. Everyone makes mistakes and all but if I'm reading a story were "know" is spelled like no and"are " like "r", I won't be able to get past the first chapter. Nope. We aren't texting here.

Another topic - the word said. Have you ever read a story were the person uses "said" so much - its not even funny. For example:

"Mia, oh my gosh! Are you okay?" Ray said. "I'm fine, I think" Mia said. "Let go home" Ray said. "Yea" Mia said. "C'mon" Ray said.
So many saids! He said ,she said, he said, she said. Read this:
"Mia!," Ray panicked, " Oh my gosh! Are you okay?" Mia rubbed her bruised elbow. " I'm fine -I guess," she lied. "Let's go home," Ray eyed Mia's black and blue elbow not buying what she said. Mia shrugged ,"Yea, I could use a break ." "C'mon," Ray grabbed Mia's shoulder and lead her home.
