A/N: FIRST AND FOREMOST I DON'T OWN THE HOBBIT THAT HONOR STAYS WITH J.R.R. TOLKIEN. THE ONLY CHARACTER I OWN IS BEALA. THE PICTURE IS WHAT I ENVISION WHAT BEALA LOOKS LIKE.

I was sitting at the table with my Ada, Celeborn, my mother Galadriel was in the other room talking to my uncle, Lord Elrond.

"Caerabeth, Gandalf has asked me to send him my best warrior Elf to help him, and you are the best. Will you go?" Ada asked me.

"Yes, Ada. Where do I meet him?" I asked.

"At the edge of Bree." Ada said.

"Okay, I'll go get packed and leave right away." I said, getting up from the table.

"Oh, Caerabeth, it would be wise if we didn't tell your mother about this." Ada said.

"Yes, Ada." I said, walking over to him and giving him a hug I walked to my room.

Once I got to my room I packed and grabbed my weapons and headed towards the stables.

I mounted Emerald, my horse and rode onto Bree.

*TIME SKIP*

Once I got to the edge of Bree I saw Gandalf by a tree smoking his pipe.

"Gandalf!" I called out riding towards him.

"Ah, Caerabeth, your father sent you, I see." He said.

"Yes he did. What do you need me for?" I asked him.

"I am here to meet with a dwarf by the name of Thorin Oakenshield to convince him to take back Erebor. But I need to warn you, Thorin don't particularly like Elves." Gandalf said.

"Let me guess, it's because King Thranduil not coming to their aide with the dragon." I said.

"Exactly." He said.

"I could handle that." I said.

"Good, let's go." He said and lead the way into Bree.

Once we placed our horses in the stables, we walked into a pub name The Prancing Pony.

When we walked in the thing that caught my eye was that two men were walking towards a dwarf that was eating, the Dwarf had long brown hair with gray streaks going through it and blue eyes.

I pulled out my sword, but Gandalf sat down at table in front of him.

"Mind if we join you?" Gandalf asked, the stopping a barmaid he said, "we'll have the same."

The two men stopped in their tracks and went back to their seats.

I sat by Gandalf still holding my sword in my lap.

"I should introduce ourselves, this is Caerabeth from Lothlórien, I am Gandalf, Gandalf the grey." Gandalf said.

"I know who you are." Thorin said.

"Well, now, this is a fine chance. What brings Thorin Oakenshield to Bree?" Gandalf asked.

"I received word that my father had been seen wandering the wilds near Dunland. I went looking, found no sign of him." Thorin said.

"Thorin, it's been a long time since anything but rumor was heard of Thrain." Gandalf said.

"He still lives, I am sure of it." Thorin said.

The waitress placed our order onto the table.

"My father came to see you before he went missing. What did you say to him?" Thorin asked.

"I urged him to march upon Erebor, to rally the seven armies of the dwarves. To destroy the dragon and take back the lonely mountain, I would say the same to you. Take back your homeland." Gandalf said.

"This is no chance meeting, is it Gandalf?" Thorin asked.

"No, it is not. The lonely mountain troubles me, Thorin. That dragon has sat there long enough, sooner or later darker minds will turn towards Erebor. I ran into some unsavory characters whilst traveling along the Greenway. They mistook me for a vagabond." Gandalf said.

"I imagine they regretted that." Thorin and I said together.

"What are you doing here?" He asked me.

"Don't know. Gandalf asked for me so I came." I said.

"Anyway, one of them was carrying a message." Gandalf said, he unrolls the message and slides it across the table to Thorin.

"Gandalf, it is Black Speech." I said.

Thorin looks at Gandalf with unease.

"A promise of payment." Gandalf said.

"For what?" Thorin asked.

"Your head." I said, and because both of them looked at me with question in their eyes I added, "Ada insisted that I learned how to read and speak it."

"She's right, someone wants you dead. Thorin you can wait no longer. You are the heir to the throne of Durin. Unite the armies of the dwarves, together you have the might and power to retake Erebor. Summon a meeting of the seven dwarf families, demand they stand by their oath." Gandalf said.

"The seven armies swore an oath to the one who wields the Kings Jewel, the Arkenstone. It is the only thing that will unite them, and in case you have forgotten, that jewel was stolen by Smaug." Thorin said.

I noticed that the two men that were watching us got up and left, I the reseathed my sword.

"What if we were to help you reclaim it?" Gandalf asked.

"How? The Arkenstone lies half a world away, buried beneath the feet of a fire breathing dragon." Thorin said.

"Yes, it does. Which is why we're going to need a burglar." Gandalf said.

"And this Elf, she's the burglar?" Thorin asked.

"No, absolutely not. I am a warrior." I said.

"Then why is she here?" Thorin demanded.

"Because like it or not you are going to need her. She has traveled this world and has the best aim with arrow or sword that I know of." Gandalf said.

"I don't like it." Thorin said.

"Look in order to get to the lonely mountains, you'll have to travel through Mirkwood." I said.

"So?" Thorin said.

"So I can get you through it with little to no problen." I said.

"How?" Thorin asked leaning closers to me.

"Well, King Thranduil respects our family, and he also wishes that his son Legolas and I be married." I said.

"And what you'll promise to marry his son if he let's us through." He asked.

"Only if reminding him of his promise to our family won't work." I said.

"Fine." He said.

"Ok we will go and enlist your burglar. Meet us in the Shire a week from today, there will be a mark on the door." Gandalf said.

Thorin nodded and got up and left.

Shortly after we left the pub and mounted our horses.

"Caerabeth, does your mother know that your father sent you here?" Gandalf asked.

"No." I said.

"I thought so." Gandalf said as we rode out of Bree.
