FAITH'S POV

3 knocks hit my door. i wake up slowly and hear my mom yell through my door to get up. it was finally game day against bergen tech. the boys had been practicing restlessly the whole week and i had been dreading this exact day. bergen tech is so competitive and we had to beat them to at least continue in the running for the championship. we literally have lost 3 years in a row and i know the team is fed up with the taunting from other teams for their losing streak. i know they are ready for a change and i was praying this was the day we would earn our rightful place with those other schools.

i havent talked to kairi in a week. it felt so weird not having him annoy me or in my presence after school. i had seen him in the neighborhood multiple times of course practicing in his backyard or getting picked up by alejandro and the girls but he never once approached my house. at this point, it was like we had never met. he completely disregarded my existence everyday in class, practice and around the development. all i keep questioning is if im overreacting. the thing is that i barely got the chance to apologize him without him shutting me out immediately and finding lauren to replace me with. if he can replace people with ease like that, i definitely wanted nothing to do with him. im just stuck with constantly wondering if hes thinking about me as well.

KAIRI'S POV

"hm. what do you think? should we do beer or straight alcohol?" lauren asks me. she invited me and the crew to help her set up for the party. me and alejandro were not supposed to be at the field until 5 o clock so we agreed to come over.

"both duh." devy says giggling. i never really went to parties at my last school so this was a little new to me and drinking was not my favorite activity but if we win, i will let the party take over me no doubt about it.

"so who exactly is being invited to this party?" i asked curiously. i really just needed an excuse to see faith during all this so i had to make sure none of this was too exclusive because lord knows lauren and faith cannot even stand breathing the same air as each other.

"just about the whole school. i did not want this to be too invitation oriented considering this school hasnt partied in ages. plus, if we win were gonna need everyone to celebrate this one. we have only been waiting for years for this exact moment." she says skimming through the drink options her parents had stored. thats all that needed to be said. there was no way faith would not show up especially since roshaun is on this team and they are glued to the hip.

"oo! devy! i found some svedka! our favorite. were definitely putting this one out. i cant wait chug that whole bottle." she giggles.

"whose bringing the smoke though? because i think mattia just finished his last gram and its too last minute to hit my plug up. hes super busy." alejandro says putting up some balloons.

"shit i didnt think about that." lauren is still looking through the bottles but almost pausing to think about what alejandro just said.

"ask faith. doesnt she always like smoke with roshaun or whatever?" devy says filing her nails.

"there is no way im taking anything from that bitch. she can keep her wack ass weed." lauren says cringing at devy's suggestion.

"well i am not coming if there isnt any loud at this shit. im texting roshaun right now." alejandro says.

"fine! do what you want but if that shit is laced or something dont come to me saying i was right." she says eyes widened.

"oh come on. faith isnt like that. why would she ev-" i say before she cuts me off.

"well you dont know faith like i do. shes a maniac." she says to me, seeming angry at me defending faith. she moves on to writing down what she needed me and alejandro to pick up from walmart. she wrote down a long list of snacks, regular drinks, lights and bigger speakers. you would think someone with such a rich daddy would have some people to do this for her but i guess were the easiest option.
