Chapter 20:Silver (almost) Lining

Laurent stayed over at Larry’s house all night as they thought and worked out the next moves they were about to make. Eight o’clock rolled in when Laurent woke up and drove back to him and Andrea’s beach house. He walked into the house and noticed it was very quiet, Carter and her girls were gone probably back home polishing their weapons knowing how they roll.

Laurent took a deep breath and strolled down the hall trying to remain quiet thinking Andrea was still asleep until he got to the bedroom door and saw her sitting up in bed holding her hands together; she was praying. Something she hasn’t done in a very long time and felt like it was much needed. Laurent smiled as he spotted her hands crossed together against her stomach. She had to have been pregnant for some time now because her stomach was already protruded and sticking out. Accelerated births meant she didn’t have long to go, hell in another few weeks or so she will be having that baby.

Laurent walked into the room slowly walked over to her and sat beside her. She rubbed her stomach smiling down at the sight if her belly actually growing unlike last time. Laurent kissed the side of her forehead, “good morning beautiful”

Andrea leaned over and kissed his cheek, “good morning King” she smiled cheekily still rubbing her belly softly. Laurent couldn’t help but stare at her stomach and bent down to place a soft kiss on top of it, “and good morning to you my little one”

The sight had Andrea’s heart sinking to her stomach and she could only pray that history repeat itself and this was Laurent’s child. “I am the father”, Laurent’s voice broke through and Andrea looked down at him. “No matter what happens, this is my baby and you are my wife”, he leaned up and kissed Andrea’s face, “and nothing will change that”

Andrea smiled and took his face in her hands kissing him softly. Laurent took her arms wrapping them around his neck while his wrapped around her waist. Their lips disconnected and their eyes spoke everything words couldn’t without ruining the moment. They both laid down deciding it was too early to get up and do anything. Laurent laid his head on Andrea’s chest with his left hand resting on her stomach. Andréa let her fingers play in his hair as he listened to her heartbeat, “so…now what?”

A question Laurent knew was coming, he knew she’d be concerned and he didn’t want her to worry about anything. He decided against telling her about the Lucifer problem because he didn’t want her to worry and stress the baby out. He sighed and told her, “It’s handled”

Andrea decided against asking any further than that. She trusted Laurent and for now she’d take his word for it even if she had a few doubts. She’d ride with him for as long as the ride took them until it stopped…if it ever did.

Larry was doing his part of the plan by researching Lucifer the proper way and knows about it on his own, and also doing some digging around about the Black sisters. After what Laurent and the boys told him about them he told his brother to move out of their house immediately and that they weren’t to be trusted. He was hoping Carter and her girls give them a thin run for their money.

Larry searched high and low in all of the necessary isles to find the books appropriate enough for his search. When he realized that now he would need a computer he stopped looking and walked right up to the receptionist desk.

“I’m checking all of these out” he said without looking up. She grabbed the first book that was thrown right in front of her, “Is there anything else I can assist you with?” her voice strong yet gentle. Larry looked up and completely forgot what the hell he was going to say.
