Louis took a shaky breath as he rang the doorbell, he was going to give Charlie the rest of his stuff back. It wasn't much, but Louis didn't want any trouble, so anything that even remotely belonged to Charlie at one point was in the box. The door opened and he felt his mouth go dry, Charlie looked like a mess.

"Hi", he said, eyebags prominent underneath his eyes and his hair looking all messed up.

"Hey", Louis nodded.

"Come in".

Louis shuffled inside, god the place was a mess, "are you okay?" He asked.

Charlie kept quiet and Louis could feel his heart break. He was happier now that they'd broken up but he still cared about him.

"Sit down, I'll cook something for you", he said before grabbing some pans and cooking up a quick meal.

"I miss you Louis", Charlie said.

Louis wiped a tear away from where he was cooking.

"I love you so much, I don't know what to do without you".

"It didn't seem like you loved me that much during our relationship Charlie", Louis sighed.

"I know I was a cunt but can we please just try again, please, I'll do better".

Louis had trouble saying no to him, this was the man he spent 3 years of his life with, his first everything pretty much, the one he talked about marriage and babies with. He sat down next to him and pulled the crying guys head in his lap, running his fingers through the tangled hair. "I'm seeing someone else Charlie", he said quietly.

"Already?" Charlie sobbed.

Louis nodded, wiping Charlie's tears away and running his hand down his back.

"Did you cheat on me?" He asked.

"Halloween night, yes, I did, and I'm sorry about it, but that was the first time ever".

Charlie nodded again, trying to wrap his head around it, he understood why Louis had done it, but it still hurt to hear him say it.

"Does he treat you well?"

"He does", Louis smiled, "don't worry, he treats me like a prince".

"That's good", Charlie nodded, running his hands over his face, "you deserve that, yea, that's good".

Louis pressed a soft kiss to his cheek, "we had really good times you know, and if I could turn back time I would do our relationship all over again, because it really was lovely at first, but you and me both know the magic was completely gone".

"I should've been better".

"And you're gonna treat your next boyfriend better, I'm sure of it". He hugged Charlie and said his goodbyes, telling him there was some actually nutritious food on the stove for him with a smile.

He walked outside and had to fight back tears, taking the bus back to his place was difficult to say the least and he did not want to be alone at the moment. He decided to call Harry, though he didn't know if that was the best idea, they'd been officially dating for less than a week, was Harry ready for his mental breakdowns? He picked up though, and when Louis heard his smooth "hi babe, everything alright then?" He just broke down.

"Oh dear, sweetheart talk to me please", he heard Harry say.

"He looked so sad Haz", Louis cried, "I gave him his stuff back and he just looked so sad".

Harry just hummed, telling Louis to continue.

"He wanted to get back together and I almost said yes", he heard Harry take a sharp breathe on the other end of the line, "he just looked so guilty, like he actually looked sorry for everything he did".

"I hope he's okay, he deserves someone like you as well", he continued.

"Someone like me?"

"You know, someone that's sweet like you and considerate like you".

"Do you want me to come over, Lou?" Harry asked, "you sound really upset".

"Would you?"

"Of course".

10 minutes later he heard the doorbell ring, the second he opened up, he jumped into Harry's arms, tears still streaming down his face.

Harry picked him up, carrying him to the couch and just holding him. He pressed soft kisses to Louis' hair whilst running a hand up and down his back. "It's gonna be okay Lou, I promise you".

Louis wasn't so sure of that, he felt like he was moving too fast, then again, everything with Charlie had felt slow paced, he didn't know what he wanted at the moment. The tears kept going, sob after sob leaving his lips. Harry had distracted him from most of it, that's what was happening. It was finally clicking for Louis that it was really over. His first love was gone. Everything they shared would become nothing but a distant memory in a matter of time. Louis didn't know how to deal with these emotions, had never felt them, and so he was dumb, and just didn't.

"Harry?" He asked, wiping his eyes with the sleeves of his hoodie.

Harry looked at him, his eyes almost looked as sad as Louis'.

"Kiss me please?" He asked, voice small and quivering.

"Are you sure? Lou, I, I don't know", Harry stammered, he didn't understand how Louis could think about kissing right now, seconds after he was bawling his eyes out.

"Please", he whispered.

Harry listened, because he always would, he pressed a soft kiss to Louis' lips, looking at him for a second to make sure he was okay, before kissing him again.

Louis bathed in the attention, thoughts of Charlie slowly but surely leaving his mind. He laid down, back pressed to the mattress, Harry on top of him, his mind was feeling cloudy, so many emotions at once. He looked at Harry, hoping he would understand what he needed, and he did. He was so so sweet, running his hands over Louis' legs, straightening them in the softest way possible. Rolling him over on his stomach and pulling his hips up. He pressed a kiss to Louis' ribs, going up his spine before landing on his neck.

"Is this okay?" He asked softly, and Louis wanted to scream because yes it was and all he wanted right now was for Harry to make him feel loved, he nodded slowly, Harry pressed another kiss to his cheek before sliding in and Louis was going to start crying again. It was hot and heavy and he was panting and that's when a sob left his lips and Harry stilled completely. He pulled out and rolled Louis back over, cupping his cheeks and wiping the tears away.

"Oh sweet love", he whispered.

Louis shook his head no, he needed to feel closer, needed to feel like him and Harry were becoming one, this wasn't enough, Harry coddling him wasn't enough.

"Harry please", he croaked.

"Tell me what you want Lou, I don't want to upset you".

"You didn't, I, please", it was like his mouth had stopped working completely, forming words was so difficult.

Harry made sure to keep his hands on him, that's one thing he did know, skin on skin contact was important, he wanted to try something. "Tell me when it's too much okay, baby?" He said, knowing this was going to be hard for him as well. He slid back in, pulling Louis' legs around his waist and then he just stayed there, not moving. He dropped his head in the crook of Louis' neck, leaving soft kisses and calling Louis everything from beautiful to angel to loved. Louis wiped a tear away. This was exactly what he needed.

"You're the best thing that ever happened to me", he whispered in Harry's curls. He could feel him smiling against his skin. Maybe he was going to be alright.
