[Taro's p.o.v]
[9:20]"So, about the movie, I was talking about earlier..." Osana stated, starting small talk.
Taro desperately tried to listen, but his mind was just not absorbing whatever Osana was talking about.
'It's something about soulmates, and how they switch bodies from time to time? I feel like— I can't hear her properly.' Taro frowned at the thought.
But his smile quickly reappeared. 'I feel so excited! Is it the movie? Why am I so happy? It feels like the thing you feel before a field trip when you're a kid.' Taro's stomach felt like was doing flips, it truly was a strange feeling.
Yet, he couldn't help but smile.
He had a new friend.
'Call it childish, if you will," he thinks.
"Senpai, are you even listening to me?" Osana asks.
Taro stopped thinking about Budo, to look at his childhood friend. Her tone held nothing, no haughty tone, no condescending tone, no 'you're an idiot. She was looking down, a pink blush spread across her cheeks, as she was twirling with her fiery orange hair.
These were rare moments, and Taro always cherished the memory it makes. Whenever it was him braiding her hair, or him, Hanako and her watching children's movies, she always had the soft side to her, whether it be the small smile on her face, or that look in her eyes, it just showed how, even verbally abusive, that Osana can keep a soft side to her.
Taro smiled at the cherished memories.
They were in the middle of the crowd, a bubble of invisibility protecting them both.
"Senpai! Listen to me!" Osana said, a frown painted on her face.
"What?" Taro asks.
"I said, we'll check it out this Friday-"
the bell ringed, shushing everyone, and ushering them to go to their respective classrooms.
Taro shrugged and started to walk away but Osana grabbed his shoulder. Harshly.
"Friday, after school; wear something casual alright?" Osana finalized
"Alright, alright." Taro nodded. Osana seemed satisfied with the answer and let Taro go.
Taro rubbed his wrist with his other hand, 'Osana does have a strong grip at times. I wonder how she does it?' he asked himself whilst closing the classroom door behind Osana. Taro's eyes swept the room briefly, before setting on Budo, who seemed to be glancing around the room as well.
Shortly, their eyes locked and Budo gave him a small friendly wave accompanied by a small lazy smile. A small goofy grin had made its way onto Taro's face, he waved back as he went on his seat, just right next to his new friend.
Taro felt weird acknowledging that.
It was fine though. Taro looked down at his watch nervously, '[9: 30]' he read. 'Any time now.' He thinks.
"Kaho-sensei's a bit late, isn't she?"
Taro raises his eyebrows the looked at Budo, acknowledging him. Budo was tying his hairband again, his hair had started to droop down a little and cover his eyebrows.
"I mean, for Kaho-sensei, it isn't really anything new..." Taro remarked, which earned a small chuckle from Budo.
Just when the class was getting louder, the teacher had opened the door to the homeroom. Everyone went silent and stood simultaneously. Just as Ms.Kaho had reached her desk, every student bowed deeply.
