"Why does the color of the crib even matter," I groaned-throwing my head back in displeasure.

Alyssa asked Javier and I to go baby shopping with her today since Kelvin had to work.

"Because-I cant decide if I should get a gender neutral color since we aren't sure what the gender is yet, or if I should go with a pink or purple since we're hoping for a girl." She ranted

"Just go with the gender neutral one to be safe!" I replied with an aggravated tone.

"Hmm, I guess you're right, okay I'll get the yellow." He nodded as she placed her index finger on her chin.

Javier and I walked up to the box and lifted it up.

"Jesus Christ," I winced out as I lifted it.

Javier chuckled in response before taking most on the weight on his end and lifting it in the cart.

Alyssa laughed teasingly in response.

"Yeah yeah whatever." I rolled my eyes.

She continued to laugh before looking back down at the list she made.

"Okay now on to the paint." She spoke.

I looked over at Javier who'd been silent majority of our day out.

"You okay?" I asked with concern-creasing my eyebrows.

He looked caught off guard by the question but quickly recovered and answered.

"Uh—oh, yeah I'm cool."

I knew he was lying but I decided to hold the conversation off until later.

It had to be due to the nightmares he was still having.

When he first left the hospital they began and I thought they'd eventually go away.

But they were still happening which meant it was due to some form and physical or emotional trauma, sort of similar to my anxiety.

It was times like theses where I wish I was still a doctor. I wanted to help him, just don't know if I could anymore, felt like I wasn't even worthy enough to still be called a doctor.

After grabbing the paint and a few other decor things, we finally left. Thankfully we decided to use my truck since it would fit the stuff easier.

I originally decided to get a truck over a car simply because I wanted to try something new but it actually ended up coming in handy.
