Mark groaned as he reached for his ringing phone. The device sounding off in such an aggressive way.

“Hello?” He answered in a raspy voice.

“Minhyung!”

“Mom?” he sat up, eyebrows creased.

“Minhyung! Where have you been?” she yelled causing Mark to pull the phone away from his ear in pain. The amount of anger in her tone was unmistakable. “Do you know how worried I’ve been? Where are you?”

“Mom, how did you get this number?”

“You gave it to your doctor.”

“Oh.”

“Minhyung-ah.”

“Yes mother,” he answered, struggling to stay awake.

“When are you coming home?” She said softly.

“I’m not. I have a new home now,” there was a brief pause, “with Lily.”

“Again Minhyung?!” Mark to shrug away from his phone a result of hearing another yell while he was still half asleep. “I told the doctor you weren’t well enough to be on your own. He should’ve listened to me.”

“Mom,” he said stopping her mini rant, “why can’t you just accept that I’ve moved on,” another pause, “with Lily.”

“Lily is dead!” she yelled louder than before. “I told you this before that she was your heart donor!”

“No.”

“Yes, Minhyung! Her family already buried her.”

“Stop trying to tear us apart!” he growled. “There’s no way Lily would do that to me. There no way she would leave me.”

“But she did, and she did it for you,” her tone softened.

Remembering where he was, Mark called out to the empty house. He called out Lily’s name. He left his bed to find the woman who he had fallen in love with many years ago.

“Lily?” he called again.

His cell phone had been long forgotten on his bed, leaving his mother to frantically call his name.

“Lily!” he began to sob, realization hitting him.

Mark fell to his knees sobbing uncontrollably. He hit his head repeatedly, yearning for his lover. Wishing it wasn’t true. Wishing she hadn’t been the donor.

If she was truly gone, then who had he been talking to all this while?

Just then the front door opened, a pair of shoes stopping in front of him.

“Mark, why are you crying?”

Said boy abruptly looked up expecting to see his love, but was left more confused then shocked.

“What’s wrong?” she reached down to wipe a stray tear from his cheek.

Mark quickly moved away, eyes opened extremely wide. In front of him stands a girl. Maybe about his age.

She sounded just like Lily. She had a slim body just liked Lily. She had plump lips just like Lily. Her hair was styled the way Lily always did hers. She even had Lily’s eyes.

This girl however, was not Lily.

“Who are you!” he stood up making sure to keep his distance.

“Mark, what are you talking about?” she attempted to walk but stopped when he put his had up.

“Answer the question!”
