"Marry...? How do you even know who she is?" I asked.

Tammy rolled her eyes. "You silly goose shitbitch, I'm Tammy! I know all in the magical universe."

"Can you elaborate?" I hissed.

"Yes. Adelaide is a twin. You need Caleb's power. Marry her and train her to steal Caleb's powers. Twin powers are VERY strong. If they are combined, it is an amazing Power. You have stolen many and now are a great witch. Why is the marriage important? Well, power transfer in marriage is very strong and does not have side effects. You do a transfer and get Adelaide's power and the one she stole from Caleb, and the power transfer between you will be easy without any side effects, like the extreme aging. Do all this and you get stronger powers than you would have thought."

I pursed my lips. I was always told to stop taking other people's powers because I would "get old" or "become a useless sack of wrinkles" or "die in a few months". Those people could screw off. I needed The Power. But it would be nice to get it quick and easy.

"So in simpler words...I marry Adelaide," I said. "I convince her to take Caleb's power, train her into how to do it, then steal all the power she gets, which will be very easy because of the marriage?"

"Yes. The only thing is you need to lie to her. I get the feeling that she's a nice girl and doesn't want to take her brother's power, or give you her's."

I nodded.

So.

Ad was going to be my bride.

I decided to distance myself from Chase. That sword thing was kinda weird. He tried to talk to me at school the next few days but I would walk away before he was even close to me. Luckily, Caleb got protective of me and the last time Chase tried coming close, Caleb locked him in a classroom and didn't let him out for nine hours. Other than that, Spenser Academy was pretty boring.

I opened my locker one day and a beautiful, silver toe ring fell out. I picked it up, staring at the gorgeous carvings in the metal. A note was wrapped inside it, and I pulled it off, reading it.

Free airpods by the gargoyle in the courtyard at midnight! See you there.

I looked around. Was this a joke? Free airpods?

I went home and tried to forget it.

But I couldn't.

I wanted to see what was going on, and if there really were free airpods. I snuck out at midnight, walking past by mom who was chugging tequila and sobbing over succulents.

I went to Spenser's courtyard, standing by the gargoyle. No one was there. "Hello?" I yelled. "Where are the airpods?" I looked around and then used my flashlight, roaming it around until I found something white in the middle of the courtyard. I walked towards it, confused.

It was a wedding dress.

A hand clamped over my mouth. I tried to scream and get out, but I couldn't. The arms huskily wrapped around my waist and pulled me close into a toned, abs of steel body, a musky cologne radiating off the person.

"You're coming with me," a minty, low voice said. I knew the voice. I knew who it belonged to.

Chase.
