Chapter 5

After breakfast Manik was all ready to go when Niyonika stopped him.

Niyonika: Manik, you promised me for a week's leave

Manik: (sigh) Maa, I am on leave. It is an important meeting.

Niyonika: Fine. But be there as soon as possible. And yes drop Nandini at Murty Mansion before going to office.

Manik looked at Nandini who suddenly seemed alert. In one day itself he came to know she is scared of him as he has always seen her talking easily with other members except him.

Manik: Yeah sure. (to Nandini) Come, Nandini

She nodded and touching Niyonika and Raj's feet she once hugged Mukti and Cabir before leaving.

As they came out Manik opened the passenger door for her making her look down.

Nandini: Can I sit at back?

But Manik kept standing holding the door for her making her sigh and sit inside hurriedly. He closed the door carefully and looked down to see if her saree was stuck in the door. Finding it alright he smiled and walked upto the other side and took his seat.

Manik: Seat belt.

She nodded and tied the seat belt hurriedly.

Manik: Shal I start?

She again nodded and he started the car. The journey was silent as both didn't knew what to say.

For the first time in his life Manik let a girl sit infront with him except Niyonika and Mukti. He felt like a responsible man. But it didn't irritated him like it used to before his marriage.

He thought he won't be comfortable with her but no there was nothing like that. Yes there was some hesitation but it was just normal.

Anyways, Soon they reached Murty Mansion. Nandini was removing her seat belt when Manik spoke

Manik: Nandini

Nandini: Ji?

Manik: I will come at dinner time. You can call me if there's any problem

Nandini: But agar ap ruk jate toh Amma Appa ko acha lagta

Manik: I would have for sure. But I have an important meeting. So..

Nandini nodded with a sad face to which he also felt bad but he was helpless as the deal was very important.

Soon he left while she entered inside her home.

As she took a step inside she saw her Appa reading newspaper sitting on the couch. Her mother must be in the kitchen while there was no sigh of her brother.

Nandini: Appa

As soon as she called them her Appa left the newspaper and looked at the door. Her mother came out of the kitchen in a little messy state. But Arya was still absent.

Next Nandini rushed towards her Appa and hugged him. Her Appa carressed her hairs and placed a soft kiss on her head. Next she hugged her mother who was in happy tears seeing her daughter as a married woman.

Breaking the hug she sat down on the couch with her Appa while her Amma walked inside the kitchen to get water for her.

Karan: Where is Manik?

Nandini: Woh...He had an  important meeting in office so he said he will come at dinner time.

Karan nodded while Nandini continued.

Nandini: Bhai kahan hai Appa?

Though she asked her Appa, it was her Amma who replied to her coming out of the kitchen with a glass filled with water. Nandini walked towards her and took the glass from her.
