The second part of the authority  bestowed by the fruit of Nri, to them who had the privilege to eat of it, was the power of ‘ala’ which is the power of creation. Ala gave the one with its authority, the power to create that which did not even previously exist.

It meant Godenzonen could create all manner of creatures for their pleasure, diverse beasts of all sorts imbued by their creators with marvellous qualities that were not naturally occurring rather were a product of their creator’s imagination.

Godenzonen could create trees that harboured peculiar powers, plants of all kind, birds, beasts and even monsters. The most astounding use of ‘ala’ by Godenzonen was in the creation of human-like beings that in appearance and manner seemed exactly like any other human being but were soulless so that they could not express or receive any emotion.

These human-like beings created by Godenzonen were referred to by them as half-humans while the entirety of the creatures created by ‘ala’ were termed N’ala. N’ala, the creatures created by Godenzonen using the power of ala were a diverse host featuring creatures with astonishing powers who functioned as their creators pleased in a variety of roles, from helpers in construction and agriculture to juggernauts of war.

Godenzonen each had a particular N’ala that was closest to them who was more like a personal companion. This particular N’ala usually a half-human, was an expression of their creator’s intimate creativity, a creation of love. This was the N’ala Godenzonen called their ‘Alaye’.

Every Alaye that I saw in the Red book was black. Godenzonen, their creators were black and since blacks were the greatest race upon the earth, Alayes could not even be imagined by their creators as being of any other race.

To many Godenzonen, the Alaye was an intimately trusted friend, to some; their Alaye was like their most favoured child, while to others the Alaye was an embodiment of their own narcissism. The narcissists were the ones who delighted in the open display of special powers possessed by their Alaye; powers which were of  course bestowed on the Alaye by them.

This category of Godenzonen who reflected their great power through their Alaye,  was the category that Dike the Invincible belonged to. Dike was leader of the hosts of the armies of the blacks, the Chief of war over all of Omira under the reign of King Meze. He was Na’ari and also of the Godenzonen which meant he had the authority of Isi-ala.

Dike’s inner magnitude was the greatest amongst Na’ari, a thing known only to Malaeel as fact but believed by Dike without evidence nonetheless. He (Dike) could simply not fathom the possibility of any Godenzonen being more proficient than him in the use of Isi-ala.

Before he became Na’ari, Dike already achieved great renown as an extraordinarily skilled warrior and killer of many fearsome beasts which he hunted for sport in Laomira and the Fringes. Dike was an exceptional fighter above all of his other qualities. He was legendary before he became Na’ari for ambushing alone in a narrow mountain pass, a troop of two hundred warriors who had kidnapped the heir to a lower kingdom loyal to the throne of King Sochi.

Dike single-handedly fought against and killed two hundred skilled fighters, none of whom was less than a decorated warrior. His strength, speed and agility of body were matched only by the sharpness of his mind making him the most devastating fighter in Omira of that age. When he became Na’ari and then Godenzonen in addition to his natural abilities, he was truly upon the earth, the existing god of war.

I saw from the Red book the scene where Dike ambushed those two hundred fighters handpicked by their master for that daring mission. He waited patiently at a great height towering over the mountain pass. The sandals he wore were infused with Kineros energy- the energy of motion, channelled by strategically placed stones woven into the leather. These sandals enabled him run faster and jump higher or farther than any ordinary human being could while conserving his own natural energy in helping him do this.

He had a band of light but flexible silver coloured metal around his neck also infused with Kineros via its grooves, which I understood from the Red book’s narrative, was meant to protect Dike’s neck from being broken by his own dangerous head-turning manoeuvres.

He wore no armour but had a skin-tight mesh around his shoulder and portions of his chest and back. This mesh had cowrie beads embedded in them which transmitted Kineros energy that prevented their wearer from being struck along his torso by moving objects essentially making their wearer’s torso invulnerable to being struck in battle.

There were more of these cowrie beads attached to tight bands around his thighs which protected his lower body. His hair was in a Mohawk that stood out with pride upon his glistening dark skinned head. By each of his temples on either side of his head there was a coloured cowrie bead which had special adhesive properties to attach themselves to his skull protecting his skull from being inflicted with any blow in combat.

I saw also that he wore a leather band around each of his elbows which had stones embedded in them that transmitted Kineros to protect his arms. In his left hand he held a long rod with sickle shaped blades at each end, his preferred weapon for the massacre that was about to follow.

Dike leapt from the height down onto the tail-end of the troop as they made their way deep into the pass. A descent from such a height ordinarily should kill a man but Dike was no ordinary man and his Kineros enhanced body simply glided to the ground with utmost grace against gravity.

He landed atop the heads of the warriors at the tail of the troop but it was the first few waves of his sickled staff that killed the initial numbers of warriors that fell. Dike retrieved two circular discs with jagged razor like edges from a pouch around his waist which I only noticed he wore once he was in battle.

He threw both discs backward simultaneously, one with each hand, without looking or turning back. Those discs the Red book made me to understand, were charged with Terrenos energy, which is the energy of the earth. As they struck the walls of the mountain pass, the discs caused the walls to cave in blocking off any escape behind him by the troop.

Dike’s next move made my heart jump to my mouth as he leapt towards the wall of the pass to his right side, feet first. Bouncing off the wall at an impressive height, he turned upside down and spun himself around in this position at frightening speed for a human being, decapitating a dozen or more warriors with his sickle blade which was rotating along with him at same speed.

When he landed on the ground he repeated the leap onto the wall of the pass this time to his left side. Alternating his fighting style, he used an horizontal roll for his spinning slashing twist this time, as again his sickle shaped blades cut more than a score of warriors to the ground.

Dike’s feet never seemed to stay on the ground throughout that battle as he flipped, spun, twisted and weaved with incredible dexterity as able warriors fell, to the ground in their tens like flies. A company of warriors attempted to break away from the rest of the troop carrying their prized hostage with them while the rest of the troop futilely engaged Dike in battle.

Two more Terrenos discs went ahead of that company however and collapsed the walls of the pass ahead of them hemming the warriors in at both ends of the pass. Off the walls, Dike repeatedly bounced back and forth as he cut down those warriors who could not match his speed and dexterity in combat.

Their numbers were soon withered down from their initial two hundred until there were just three warriors left guarding their bemused hostage who  couldn’t tell if this unstoppable killing force was here to help him or to hasten his death. Seeing that the last three warriors were black (they were captains of the troop) as against the rest of the troop who were non-blacks, Dike offered them reprieve for their lives.
