Sophie was not speaking like herself.
She is a positive person and very nice, but what came out her mouth, Broke me into a million pieces.
" no one cared about your mom anyways! I'm glad she's gone." "Sophie is that you?" I asked. "Wow don't even know your own friend" she said. I thought to myself, well she's not acting like much of a friend. But I knew that wasn't her. But who was it?
I talk to Sarah while the phones muted. "I'm scared" I said. "What happened to her?" She went into her phone. " Sarah this is not the right to to make a post." I said angrily. But I looked over at what she was doing, she was looking up how to hypnotize someone. I asked what are doing, and why are you looking that up? She told me that Sophie could have been hypnotized, and maybe even Cameron too. "Maybe." I said.
Where would they be? I thought to myself.
I knew their dad pretty well, but I couldn't quite think of a spot he would take them.
Sarah asked me if we just wanted to take a break and grab a bite to eat. "Food." I said quietly. Sarah nod and said," yep that's what getting a bite to eat is. "No." I said. There is this restaurant that closed a year ago. "So?" Sarah said. "They loved that restaurant." What if he took them there? I said with enjoyment. But we need more people, because we don't know what we are facing.
"I'll call Roxanne and Dennis, you call Josie and Cara." First I called Roxanne, she always picks up.
"Hey!" Roxanne states. "Hey come over quick!" I say. Then I hang up leaving her mid-sentence. I dial in Dennis's numerals because I'm using my dads phone, mine is dead. Dennis doesn't answer. I call again but no reply.
Sarah was just finishing up her calls. Both answered and both are coming. But I wondered why Dennis couldn't answer. Dennis is always on his phone, like 24/7. Dennis is the kid that texts instead of calls, so I was surprised to see no reply.
Josie and Cara just got here 5 minutes ago. And Josie was acting, different. Josie is the sporty one in the friend group. But she was dressed nice for a dirty job? Looking in places we don't know. You should never wear something nice for this job. And she says she hates wearing nice things anyways. For example: 2 months ago her aunt died. They were close, so they went to the funeral. She wore sweatpants and a sweatshirt.
I tried to not address it and just move along. But I couldn't help to notice her eyes and wrist. Her eyes were just like deep cave that never stops. A deep dark cave with fire. And her wrist had scratches on it. But not like the ones you get from sports.
The first thing that popped into my mind was what I hoped it wasn't.
Again, I walk away and don't bring it up. Cara in the other hand looked and acted normal. But to be honest her normal was weird. But that's Cara for you. Out of no where Josie says she has to leave. When we asked where she said, umm. "Umm?" I said back. "To help my grandpa." I said " Josie, you'd grandpa died years ago." " Umm my other grandpa," she said. " ok?" I replied. I knew she was lying though. Awhile ago she told me her only grandpa died. So as she was leaving I put a tracker in her purse. "Sarah! Look!" I said.
