The freezing month of January passed by as Silvia and the rest of the students took their midterms and continued with their classes as February fourteenth came around.
" Good morning Silvy!" Came Molly's usual wake up shout.
" Can't you not do that for one day? Just One?!" Silvia sat straight up in bed, her long brown hair stuck up in different places along her head and face.
" Nope, it really does seem to help you. If I didn't do it you would miss every class!" Molly exclaimed, accepting a thrown pillow from Silvia to the gut.
" Didn't you say it's some sort of holiday for love today for muggles?" Silvia asked as she got out of bed and changed into her robes.
" Yes it's called Valentine's Day and if two people like each other, they are more than likely to start dating today than any other day of the year," Molly stated ' matter of factly'.
" Oh cool... I guess," Silvia put on her black shoes and walked with Molly down to the great hall.
" Good morning Sil and Miss Paterson," Draco and the rest of his Slytherin friends meet up with them on the stairs.
" Morning!" The girls replied and kept walking like they weren't there.
" What's going on? Hey wait up!" Draco called after them, chasing them the rest of the way to the hall.
" Molly says it's the national holiday for love in the muggle world, sorry about how we reacted, I think Molly just felt awkward," Silvia informed the Slytherins.
" Oh-"
" Ha stupid muggles, who would celebrate love for an entire day? You should be hanging out with our own kind if you and Draco are going to last, not some silly Mudblood like Paterson," Pansy sneered. Silvia wanted to scream but she couldn't, her voice not willing to break free from it's safe barrier.
" Parkinson watch your language- Sil are you okay?" Draco took a step toward her but she only backed away, shaking her head and starting to turn red as tears streamed down her face.
" I-I hope you'll regret th-this Parkinson! For all you've already done to me and Draco's lives!" Silvia cried just as Ron and Harry entered right next to them.
" Silvia! Silvia what's wrong?" Ron turned into the brother like figure that he was for her. She turned and hugged him, letting the majority of her tears fall on his shoulders.
" Malfoy what did you do?" Harry asked being defensive for her, for the first time ever.
" It was Parkinson, Potter. I would never call a person like Molly a rude comment. As for you Stinky Potter yes I would," Draco answered glaring at him.
" I thought you'd learn your lesson by now you Slytherins! Calling people bad names doesn't do good for anyone! It only makes people- or that person upset!" Ron raised his voice over Silvia's crying.
" I know her weakness now, isn't that a good thing?" Pansy asked in her sassy way.
" Harry! Mate, no. I'll get Silvia to Dumbledore, wait here for me for dark arts," Ron held Harry back and glared at the group of Slytherins one last time before everyone split off to there destinations.
" I can't believe she's just attacking me like that! It's just Valentine's Day, not ' let's make Silvia feel
bad for dating Malfoy' day..." Silvia wiped the final tears from her face as they came across the Headmasters office.
" Silvia, Parkinson is just jealous of you! You have such a better life than you think than hers and she doesn't think Malfoy deserves you. She simply believes that she is the queen of the castle but she isn't... I don't really know who is- but definitely not her," he answered, making Silvia laugh as they climbed the winding staircase to Dumbledore's office.
" Why hello Mr Weasley and Miss Stone!" Dumbledore greeted them as they entered the round office, clapping his hands once together.
" Morning Dumbledore, Silvia- well really it was Molly Paterson who was insulted but Silvia took the blow from it... From Parkinson," Ron then explained what he and Harry heard from their talk.
" Ah I see. Mr Weasley thank you for bringing Silvia to me, you are free to go now," Dumbledore dismissed Ron and he left nodding his head in thanks.
" I know it's a dumb reason Headmaster bu-" Silvia was waved off by him.
" Silvia, no reason to come visit me is ever dumb, in fact I'd wish you'd came more but you have school work and I have meetings," Dumbledore said to her, Silvia smiled. He waved his wand and a plate of warm maple pancakes appeared on the table between them for Silvia.
" May I?" She asked politely, taking the fork and knife in her hands.
" That's why I summoned those, for you my dearest," he replied. Silvia continued to smile as she took her first bite. " You know, before your parents died they came to me..." He started and made eye contact with her and she nodded so he could go on.
" They came to Hogwarts and spoke with all of the staff and I telling us about you and your siblings when we already knew so much from they're letters and pictures. They wanted to make sure that you three were all safe and protected under the castle wards. Your parents were very keen of us to make sure that everyone in this castle protects you and takes care of you, as if we were all really them," Dumbledore told her Silvia nodded her head once again but finally spoke up.
" What is your point Headmaster?" She asked, confused on why he was telling her this.
" Well just for the fact that I heard about your little plan to free your siblings and I will help you when the time comes," Dumbledore smiled at her, she couldn't help but laugh.
" I'd thought you knew about the plan from- wait no one told you until now?" Silvia asked knowing the plan hadn't changed at all since the start of the year.
" Mr Malfoy told me recently because he was worried about you and something else that I can't seem to remember," he explained.
" Oh, well thanks for wanting to help, I should really get going now, I'm already seven minutes late for potions and I know Snape hates it when I'm tardy!" Silvia stood up from the velvet chair, smiled at him one more time, and left without another word.
Another week passes and it's finally the day of the second task, a day everyone has been anxious for since December.
Silvia did end up noticing that several students went missing the night before since Cedric wouldn't leave the great hall until he saw Cho, which he didn't so Silvia had to take the scared teen back to their common room alone.
" What do you thinks going to happen in this challenge?" Draco asked as they meet up by the boats to transfer them to the stands set up in the middle of the Black Lake.
" Well knowing that several students have been missing for the past twelve hours, the champions have to go save them," Silvia tightened her scarf around her neck as a gust of freezing, dry, cold air brushed against them.
" Knowing you, your probably right," he took her hand, helping her into the boat they were boarding. Silvia couldn't help but laugh immaturely, yes they've been together almost the entire year but she still couldn't believe they fell for each other.
( skip to the end of the challenge)
" Where are they? They only have two minutes left!" Silvia exclaimed nervously, eyeing the vast, ripple-less lake many meters below them.
" Look Sil..." Draco let his voice trail off just as Cedric had crash landed onto the deck with Cho, where Dumbledore and all the officials were waiting with towels and blankets. Silvia cheered as Hogwarts, and Hufflepuff House had earned another victory. Viktor Krum was second with Hermione but Harry and Fleur we're nowhere to be seen.
Just as the large clock timing the champions struck twelve Harry shot out of the water with both Ron and Gabriella, Fleur's younger sister.
" Attention!" Dumbledores voice boomed threw all the cheering. " According to what just happened we rewarded Harry Potter with second place!" He shouted, welcoming more cheers from Silvia and the rest of the Hogwarts students- well all except Draco, who only continued to hold her hand and glance mindlessly around the stands and lake.
" Hey come on, we're leaving now," Silvia gently tugged his arm, bringing him back to focus as they started to walk back down to the boats.
" One more to go, and the plan is still on right?" He whispered in her ear.
" Yes like butter and jam on toast," Silvia joked. Draco only smiled in reply. " Is... Everything alright?" She asked, turning her head to face him.
" I'm just nervous to be completely honest with you. I mean there's going to be so much going on and when He returns it's going to get difficult for me to protect you and keep you away from my parents if they ever find out..." Draco whispered in a concerned voice.
" You'll try your best, and besides, I can protect my self ninety percent of the time... Just keep me a secret, promise?" Silvia asked looking into his blue gray eyes.
" Promise," he walked her back to her common room the rest of the way in silence.
" I really like you Silvia," Draco took both her hands and looked at her, merely a foot away from him.
" I enjoy your company too Draco," Silvia replied, a soft smile forming on her face. He leaned in and kissed her on the forehead.
" Now go celebrate alright? I'll see you later," Draco squeezed her hands and released them as he walked down the dim corridor to his own common room.
Silvia mostly just watched her house celebrate Cedric's second victory from the dorm stairs, not in the mood to join the fun.
" Whatcha doin Silvy?" Molly asked walking slowly up to her best friend.
" I don't want to celebrate while my siblings continue to suffer. If only I could just save them sooner..." Silvia placed her head in her hands, stressing out again.
" Silvy... You can't. Our plan is already set in stone and-"
" Did you seriously just say 'set in stone'?" Silvia gave her a look and the two laughed.
" Sorry yes, it just sort of slipped out. I meant that our plan is perfect and everything is going to be fine!" Molly took her hands and squeezed them, giving her best friend a smile. Silvia sighed and shook her head, giving in to the smile.
" I'll be forever thankful for your optimism Molly. I'm going to go take a shower before dinner, see you in a few," Silvia took her hands out of Molly's grip, smiled confidently, and headed up the stairs to their dorm.
Silvia felt like she was ready for anything and anxious for June to arrive. Yes of course she was still very stressed about the escape plan. Nervous if something were to go wrong. But she still had months til then and needed to put her education first and try to relax quite a bit, just like Molly had said to do.
