CHAPTER SIX - I LOVE YOU.
______________________________________________
It's been three months since I temporarily lost my memories. From what I was told, Tessa took me to my mom and even though I didn't remember them, I stayed put. I was given antianxiety pills and told to rest and when I woke up, I was fine. My mom and Tessa cried a lot, thinking I wouldn't ever truly remember them.
The last thing I remember was seeing Maddy and Kelvin making out and then later seeing myself on my bed. I haven't spoken to Maddy since then and I definitely haven't spoken to Kelvin either.
I'm currently getting ready to go out with Tessa. She's been with me everyday since the last memory incident — especially during our exams. We're going to get her hair done at the salon for our school's ball coming up in two days. I've decided to take her as my date since we're both not dating anyone.
"Peter what is taking you so long?" I hear my mom say. "Tessa has been waiting for you."
"I'm coming right now. Just a minute." I tie the lace of my shoes and head downstairs.
Tessa is already dressed so I kiss my mom goodbye and walk out the door, heading for the car. Tessa won't let me drive since then. She said she's scared I might have another incident and get involved in an accident — again. I go over to the passenger's seat while she starts the engine and drives off.
The salon is mostly packed with girls. Tessa meets her friend who works here and both of them just keep talking. The young lady starts working on Tessa's hair while I wait out. I sit on a bench in the waiting room and decide to play games with my phone.
"Hey." A voice says and I look up to see it's Maddy.
"Hi." I reply, looking back down at my phone.
She doesn't say anything for a while, she just stares at me. When she notices that I don't want to talk to her, she starts leaving slowly.
"Is there something you wanted?" I ask just to give her a chance to talk.
She strolls back quickly and sits beside me. "I just wanted to explain myself. If you want to talk about it."
Heaving a heavy sigh, I stop my game and face her. "Okay. Let's talk."
"I don't have an excuse as to why I did it but I want you to know that I'm sorry," She avoids eye contact as she speaks. "Kelvin was my boyfriend before you and honestly, I really liked him back then."
"And you didn't like me then?" I ask bitterly as I shake my head with a forced smile.
"I liked you a lot – I still do Peter. The thing is that you were never really into the relationship." She looks at me and I chuckle.
"I was never into the relationship? You're accusing me of that?" I snap at her and she shakes her head.
"When we started dating, you were always distant. I knew you cared about me but you put up a wall to protect yourself from something. You–" She says calmly but trails off and looks away. I just listen.
"–You never looked interested in kissing me and even if Tessa is your best friend, you always preferred spending your time with her than with me."
I start feeling a little bad about my behaviors. "I'm sorry about that–"
"No, don't." She interrupts me. "I came here to apologise so let me finish."
"Sure." I nod my head and she smiles.
"Kelvin started coming back, saying he misses me and all. He said he felt bad about cheating on me with my best friend and he would prove it to me. He started spending time with me even if I pushed him away. He bought me stuffs I never asked for." She chuckles at the memories.
