Chapter 1
A gentle breeze blew passed the curtains and danced across my sun kissed skin, sending a cool soothing chill across my body. The smooth throw comforter was tangled between my legs. I took a deep breath of the familiar salty air and slowly opened my eyes. The suns rays peaked through the curtains and dust sparkled and danced between them. In the distance the sound of crashing waves filled my ears. It was perfect and peaceful. I was tempted to stay in bed all day, until I realized something wasn't right.
Shoot.
I shot up out of bed and tossed my warm throw blanket off of me. My bare feet hit the cold wooden deck.
Not again.
I cursed under my breath as I sprinted out of my room and down the hall yelling for Calla and Brea. I always do this-I keep forgetting to set my alarms for the morning.
"Calla! Brea! Wake up we're going to be late!"
Maybe we were already late, I hadn't checked the time but I'm sure it's almost time to open shop and we're not even there yet. I probably shouldn't care too much, since I own the shop and I can open at whatever time I feel like, but I'm sure I have loyal customers patiently waiting for those shop doors to open. As I shouted for Calla and Brea, I made my way to their bedroom and pounded on their doors. As soon as I got a grumbling response from both of them, I hastily made my way back to my room to get ready for the work day.
I stumbled across the room as I stripped myself bare, making my way across the room and towards my closet. I pulled out my work uniform. A collared maroon shirt, some regular black skinny jeans, and dug my feet into some black sneakers. I made my way to the bathroom that all three of us shared. It was cute. Each one of our stylish personalities clashed in the designs of the bathroom. Calla's small basic plants hung on decorative white shelves around the bathroom, my cute ocean themed curtains and matching rugs, and Breas cute water Pokémon decorations all over the sink and walls.
I plucked my tooth brush from the pokemon cup beside the faucet of the sink, and started to brush my teeth. Suddenly, the door burst open, causing me to jump and shriek in fright, nearly choking on the toothpaste. Two panicking roommates rush towards the sink and start vigorously brushing their teeth. I spit out my final ball of paste, accidentally getting it on Callas hand as she went to wash off her tooth brush.
"GAHHH, gross!" She yelled, washing off her hand and then slapping me with it, water seeping through the sleeve of my shirt. I giggled. Whoops.
Together, we then proceeded to the open kitchen and living room, where we grabbed granola bars to snack on from the cabinets, and made our way out.
We exited our cute little quaint home on the beach, and sprinted down the sandy pathway to our car. I jumped into the car, jamming the key into the ignition. As soon as it spurred to life I sped off.
"Okay-" I started. "We seriously need to start putting alarms. This happens more often than I like, and I'm sure our customers are starting to think things." I pulled the mirror down to assess myself. My golden eyes examined my dark brown unruly hair that had streaks of gold. As I drove through the island, I ran my fingers through my hair in attempt to make it slightly more tamed. As I ran my fingers through my hair my fingers got caught in some knots and I forcefully tugged through it, strings of hair painfully tugging at my scalp. I felt myself losing hair and slightly balding more. I examined myself again, deciding that this will have to do.
"What's it matter? Loyal customers will stay loyal no matter what time we open or close," calla responded. I eyed her through the mirror. Calla was a beautiful woman, but slightly odd to look at first glance. She is pale as snow and her hair is the color of cotton candy. Her eyes a piercing light blue, her nose long and sharp, slightly turning upwards at the tip. She also had a septum piercing, and several ear piercings as well. Despite her intimidating looks, she is as sweet and gentle as ever.
