I woke up, a grey paw nudging me. I opened my eyes to find Greyclaw standing above me. "You're in a patrol," he mewed. I sat up in my moss pile, and yawned. "Dawn patrol?" I asked. Greyclaw nodded. I stretched as he walked out of the warrior's den. I wandered after him. Sandpaw and Bluepaw were there, giving me envious looks. I knew Bluepaw desperately wanted to be a warrior, and the fact that his younger sister was a warrior was probably embarrassing for him. "Let's go," Greyclaw said once I got out of the den.

We stood at the WoodClan border, keeping a watch for rogues or LeafClan cats. Mostly rogues though, as LeafClan warriors are hardly hostile. Abruptly, I heard a yowling noise. I rushed over to where I heard it, and found Bluepaw biting and scratching a grey shape that I supposed was a rogue. I hissed and launched at the rogue. It yowled as I bit it, and as Bluepaw scratched it. It scrambled to get away, but mine and Bluepaw's grip was too strong. The rogue batted my face, and my grip loosened, giving the rogue a space to get away. But Sandpaw wouldn't have that. He leaped at the rogue as it tried to flee, seizing it and pinning it down. I scratched the rogue, and nodded at Sandpaw to let it go. "Take it to Woodstar, please," I mewed. Sandpaw nodded obediently, and lead the rogue back to camp.

"You fought like warriors today," I mewed to Bluepaw and Sandpaw at the fresh-kill pile. "I'll be telling Woodstar how helpful you were." Sandpaw beamed, and Bluepaw puffed out his chest proudly. I smiled at them, and padded off to Woodstar's den.

"Woodstar," I mewed. "Sorry to interrupt you, but Bluepaw and Sandpaw fought like warriors today. They were very helpful. I think they should become warriors." Woodstar nodded. "I was thinking how good at hunting Ivypaw is, and he's great at fighting too. They should have a ceremony this Moon-High," she mewed. I hesitated. Fernpaw would feel left out. "Fernpaw is great too. She should become a warrior with them," I suggested. Woodstar nodded again. "You're right,  Roseclaw. She would feel left out as well," she said. I let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you for your time, Woodstar," I dipped my head respectfully, backing out of her den. Once out of her den, I rushed over to Bluepaw and Sandpaw. "You're becoming warriors this Moon-High!" I called. Sandpaw's face lit up with glee, and Bluepaw smirked proudly. I beamed at them, and went over to the apprentice's den to find Ivypaw and Fernpaw.

They were playing with Ivypaw's feather, and looking perfectly content. I padded over to them. "Guess what?" I mewed excitedly. "You're becoming warriors!" Ivypaw's jaw dropped, and Fernpaw froze, an amazed look on her face. "This Moon-High, ok?" I smiled, and padded to the warrior's den to sleep.

"Maybe all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather round for a ceremony," Woodstar's voice called. I opened my eyes and leaped up. I rushed out of the den, and sat round the FallenTree. Ivypaw, Fernpaw, Sandpaw and Bluepaw were sitting below it, looking up at Woodstar. My eyes were focused on Ivypaw, but I didn't know why. I felt an odd sensation. Then I realised. The sensation was love. I was in love with this cat who was about to become a warrior, and he probably thought I was just his friend. I shook the feelings away. I needed to focus. "You have all shown how worthy you are of being warriors. Do you all promise to defend the Clan no matter what, even at the cost of your life?" Woodstar mewed. The apprentices nodded. "Then I give you your warrior names. Ivypaw, you shall now be known as Ivyheart. Sandpaw, you shall now be known as Sandpelt. Fernpaw, you shall now be known as Fernpath. And Bluepaw, you shall now be known as Bluestripe. This meeting is dismissed,"  Woodstar announced, leaping off the FallenTree.

I padded over to Ivyheart, and beamed at him. His eyes seemed to be filled with the same sensation as the one I had felt during the ceremony. Did he think of me as more than his friend? He opened his mouth, and mewed, "Roseclaw, I know I just became a warrior, and you'll probably say no to me but..." he trailed off. "Never mind," he mewed, and padded off to the warrior's den. I followed him, and went to sleep, wondering what he was going to ask me.
