I spent the few next days in the centr3 hospital. I did like having own time and being able to process things at my own speed. Still I knew that when I would start training I would fall behind. Spending a week only eating and sleeping does not make good for your body. And it does not help that all the other candidates have been training all these days with full energy. Yes we started training. Ellie told me that the first part of training is physical. I also learnt a bit more about the powers from her. Apparently there are two types of powers and the colour of your mist represents your type. As I had blue mist apparantly I am suppose to have mind powers. Ellie told me her powers were physical but that is all I was able to learn. I guess I will have to ask one of the tainers when I go back.
I pull on a black t-shirt over my head. It seems to fit me fine which is a positive note. The pants the centre gave me are black shorts with a white stripe on one side. They are a little big on my waist but I guess they will do. Black sneakers from home give the outfit a little bit of my own taste. My hair looks frizzy and messy. I comb it fast with my fingers and put it on a low ponytail. You might be wondering now what am I doing. Today will be my first day of training. I have now been a week in the hospital for concussion and my head feels fully normal. Now we just need to get through this day. Firs day is always the worst. Righ?
As I open the hospital doors after talking to the nurse about all the medication I see a man standing behind it.
"Hello Hudgens. I am here to guide you to your room. You are free to ask me any questions while we walk. Oh and my name is Oscar."
Kind but also cold. He seems like a sweet person who is forced to act out of his way. Will I become like that too?
"First of all you can just call me Willow."
"I am sorry but we are specificly guided to call you by your last names."
"Okay then."
I did now know this whole situation was like this. Yes, I did know it was not all fun but still. I guess this will need more than a smile from me to survive. I should really use this time and ask some stuff.
"Are you part of security?"
"Yes"
"How old are you?"
"I am eighteen."
"What happens to the people that do not have mist?"
His face turns deadly serious. I guess this answers my question. Whatever it is I should not know. I also know that I must learn. I need to know what happened to my sisters. He tells me we have arrived. He opend a door in front of me and then walks away. I guess I will have to do this alone.
"Welcome to recruition. You will now be given a bed that you will sleep in for the next six months. After that you will be given a profession and a new room. Analyzing face. I found a match with the name Willow Hudgens. It seems like you are the last one to arrive. Your bed is located in the second floor next to the fireplace."
This all is so new to me. First weird mist and now talking holograms. I decide to seach my bed before I forget the directions. I also get to take a good look at the room. Even though it is callled a room I would call it an apartment. I can see a bathroom and a huge living room in front of me. Around them are three bedrooms with names on the doors. I will come back to them later. The theme of the rooms is modern with diffent tones of greens. There is a huge hologram painting on the wall representing a window and huge plants around the rooms are making it all look finished.
White spiral staircase is located straight next to the door. I walk upstairs. Like before the space leaves me without words. The floor only covers partly the first floor and you can look down over a glass fence. Next to the stairs is a bedroom and then a fireplace room. The fireplace makes the whole "room" a lot more lively. There are five chairs surrounding it. One for everyone living here I guess. And there it is. In the last possible corner. A room with a wooden door. It has a label on it saying "Hudgens".
I walk inside. I can not remember all the stuff. The room is like a bigger and better version of my own room back home. And there it is. The only family photo I ever owned with a small piece of paper next to it. I lift up the paper with shaking hands and read it out loud.
"Both Maple and Juniper would be really proud of you.
-Mom"
My mom was here. She saw it all and actually was in my room. Is she happy for me or sad that I am the only girl of hers that survived. I will have to meet her as soon as I can. "Knock knock knock". I can hear the sound of my sneaker sas I walk. I don't remember leaving my room or deciding to join the training. Still as I get rid of my thoughts I see someone running at fast speed over to me. Hugging Ellie again feels amazing. But soon enough it ends when the trainer reaches us and tells Ellie to go back. Actually I'm happy it ended. Hugging Ellie was great but now I finally have a chance to look around. The room is huge and has a glass roof. The walls have been painted white even though all types of posters arw covering the colour pretty well. If this is where I will be spending the next half year I might actually enjoy it. The centre smells like sweat and citrus. A weird combination I must say but honestly I love it. A gently based hand on my shoulder snaps me out of my daydream.
"Hello Hudgens! My name is Sofie and I will be one of your trainers. I know this is all very new to you and it can be hard starting later than everyone else but we will help you. Now there is something we will need to discuss about."
"Am I in trouble?"
"No not at all. Today we are wrapping up the first week of training as you know this will be your beginning. Everyone else will be having a small fitness test but I have agreed to train you for today. We will need to also meet up during the weekend but if we train hard you should be able to start with the others on Monday already."
She gives me a shy smile and only from that I can know this will be great. The way she talks is professional and kind. She even stands in a nice position somewhat similar to mine. From all the trainers I think she is a great fit for me.
We start the training with basic punches and kicks. For my surprise I can actually say I am pretty good at it. Apparently after we know how to handle our powers we will be able to pick our own weapon of choice. Until that everyone is stuck with their own body. After an exhausting day of training I return to my room. I never would have imagined this. Four girls are sitting on the living room floor playing card games. A girl with blond hair walks up to me as I am taking of my sneakers.
"Hi you! I'm Miah but you call me M. We are playing card games do you want to join?"
Without even waiting for an answer she drags me from my hand to the girls with and makes me sit down. The evening was actually very fun. I got to know the girls and somehow I instantly connected with Miah. After the games I eat some bread and go sleep. As I fall asleep I can see an image of me and my sisters in my head. I promise I will find out the truth. The rest of the weekend goes by fast and for my luck Sofie says I am ready to start with the other girls. I also got to see my beautiful chocolate eyed blondie. I still haven't had a chance to talk with her again but I have a feeling that is about to change.
