The End, Last Beginning

Prologue

The world was once again at war.  Every Country that existed was forced to join one of three sides of the war.  If they refused, they were quickly consumed by fire or occupation.

Many were forced to live underground because of constant bombardments, constant human occupations of enemy States.

Some, who lived above ground, were the fighters.  Those who would risk all, just to get the mission of their Countries accomplished.  Some important, some fleeting.  

Many of the underground outposts were sought and destroyed by enemies of their Countries, some remained hidden and safe.  These outposts were known as the "Nests", simply because there was a conspiracy theory that they only existed to breed new humans for battle above ground.

Years passed and many bombs were dropped.  Many skirmishes resided, but finally, only the three super-powers remained.  United States, China, and Europa.

Europa was the Olde Country.  It was known as England, however, they had taken over Spain, Portugal, France and Germany during the war.  They are now known as Europans.

The United States was almost all but lost.  They had tapped out their resources, and without monitary currency, they had little in the trade game.  Though trade was forbidden to any country outside of oneself, they were confined to trade within' their own boundaries.  They had taken Canada, Central and South America, so their oil production, fruits production, wood and stone production was still at height.  

Technology had seemed to dwindle back down to that of the 1960's, so many had read in books.  The only State to increase technological power was that of China.  They continued working scientifically and technologically, applied sciences and applied tech was a specialty to them.  They created ARAV's, or Amphibious Robot Assault Vehicles.  Ones who could travel across sea and breech land to attack settlements in Europa and United States.

They also created a new technology called the ASH, or Aerodynamic Stealth Helicopter.  It was similar to the "X-Wing"  that had tried and failed to combine jet-plane with a helicopter.  However, they went a few steps further in applying stealth perks to it.  The ASH, could hover over an attack zone and quickly transform itself into a jet by folding back it's helicopter wings and initializing a jet burner to quickly leave the area, and also, vice versa, in order to maneuver around and dodge missiles.  It could electronically generate a "false screen" around the underbelly and sides of the vehicle, taking a snapshot of the backdrop every three nanoseconds and projecting it underneath.  This was known as SPS, or "Speedy Photogenic Stealth".  It could be heard, but what was seen was the sky above or the landscape beside.  

Europa had a few tricks of their own, but they stuck to land based vehicles and, like the United States, they decided to put research into "Powered Suits", some forming to one's body, some as a bipedal vehicle that was fully weaponized.

Yet, these were but war trades.  The real battle was survival in desolation.  Finding good food and clean water was another war.  Many in the Nests were destined to die there.  Bombardment had diminished any hope of reaching the surface again.  One of the old agreements was that there would be no physical record of where any of the Nests were built, as not to compromise the safety of their location to any enemy states.  The only people to know their locations were the men and women who constructed them, and those who lived within' them.

It was only 6 months before the Last World War began that all Nuclear weapons were packed into a  giant spaceship and sent out into space.  By the time it reached just outside of the Solar System, it would automatically detonate and the world would once and for all be absent of the threat of Nuclear Weapons.

This was a great plan, all members of the United Nations agreed.  However, it made war easier fought for long term, and certain countries thought that, without a nuclear arsenal, some countries would fall at their hands.

War was not over after all, and as more and more countries joined the war, it was clear that these weapons had both created peace and chaos.

Twenty-one years later, the nukes detonated.  The brilliant star that was created by a man-made explosion was visible in the skies, just as the sun.  Only, ever-so smaller, but visibly larger than a star.

This, was a mistake.
