Once upon a time...
The moon and the sun once lived in harmony. A long, long time ago they were lovers, bound together by a bond so deep that in order to destroy it one would have to destroy the universe. But this love was forbidden, unnatural.
They ruled over a world, a world that uninhabited by anything. The sun burned anything that dare gaze upon his moons glory, leaving the planet scorched.
But together both the moon and sun created souls that burned brightly around them. They were their children that the moon cherished more than anything.
For a millennia they lived peacefully, no harm coming to them as the sun pushed away any darkness that dare seep forward.
They had yet to realize the universe was angry, angry at the sun for killing any chance of life the world had. The universe sent darkness, darkness that poisoned the sun and diminished the stars. The only thing left was the moons soft glow.
The moon begged the universe for her love and children back, willing to sacrifice anything for them.
The universe agreed to bring them back, seeing that while the sun killed those who viewed the moon, the life depended on the sun to thrive.
But the universe knew that the moon and the sun could never be reunited, seeing the harm that was caused when they were together. The sun rid the world of darkness when it was risen, but the moon didn't have enough power to vanquish it.
The universe cursed the moon to an endless entirety in darkness, the only thing keeping her company were the children her and her love created. They had to be punished for the treason they committed by loving each other.
The sun awoke to see that his moon was gone, and that for every time he rose she set. He was given glimpses of her, enough that it kept him in pure agony as he could never reach her. He was mad at the moon for leaving and mad at the universe for taking her away.
He was never allowed to see the souls he created, but then again they reminded him too much of her.
In his anger, the sun created man. Something that was made to resemble him, something he could rely on to never leave him. As he dropped his rays of gold onto the surface of the Earth, men formed.
They were bound to only live in his presence, in his light.
The moon saw this, as darkness threatened to choke her. As tears slid down her face and hit the Earth's surface, the bodies of women created in her image grew. She saw these creations and put pieces of her children's soul in each, making life.
She knew they would understand her anguish and pain. But she couldn't bare let the sun see them, so they were bound to live only in her glow.
For decades these creations lived on Earth, only vaguely aware of each others presence as they rotated as the sun and moon did. It was a peaceful existence for these creations, even though the sun and the moon lived in constant pain.
But then one day the sun and the moon met again after a century of endless chasing. Darkness fell over the creations and both the sun and the moon blocked each other. Men and women curiously met, never have seeing one another.
They soon fell into a bitter hatred, blaming each other for their parents pain. Soon they began to inflict pain on each other during this stretch of darkness.
During this time, the sun and the moon had reunited. There was no time for words of arguments, instead they created a beautiful soul. A complete combination of both of them, perfectly balanced.
They beamed at their child, their new creation. But soon the universe ripped them apart, and their grasp on the soul tearing it into two.
The sun was enraged at being taken from his lovers arms yet again. He roared and screamed at the universe, cursing it to a painful existence. But soon he grew tiresome of this anger and looked at his half of the soul. He created a body, making it as perfect as he could for his perfect little soul. He then graced his creations with it.
The moon wept for the sun, blessing a child to her creations as she placed her half of the soul into the female.
They grew up separate, apart. Never to see one other within their life times supposedly. But that didn't stop the emptiness they felt, the emptiness of only having half a soul.
So they both grew up wondering and wanting something they didn't even know existed.
Okay so I'm just publishing a look of book previews to see if anyone likes them. This one I have a lot of ideas for and is quite original if I do say so myself. Anyone tell me if you like this by commenting! It'd be really helpful!
