Russia pulled up to the school and parked. He got out and checked the time. He was a bit early but only by a few minutes.

He waited for the twins with the other parents.

"Hey, who you picking up?" Asks a relatively short woman with black hair and brown eyes. She had thick rimmed black glasses and was wearing a t-shirt and torn jeans.

"My twins D.C. and Moscow. Who are you here for?" He asks

"My daughter Alex." The woman says

"I'm Veronica, by the way. You are Russia right?" Veronica says

"Yeah" he says

Suddenly, a burst of kids come out rushing to their parents. A small girl with fluffy black hair and black rimmed glasses runs up to Veronica.

Russia waited until the twins finally walked out having a conversation with the teacher.

"Dad!" Says little DC running into the big country. Russia hugs the little boy.
He then hugs Moscow before scooping both up and putting them on his shoulders. D.C. giggles slightly.

"Hey, I haven't seen you around. My name is Lisa the kindergarten teacher here. " a woman who had browning blond hair and bright blue eyes says.

"I'm Russia" Russia says

"You have a lively bunch here. Where's their mother?" Lisa asks

"He's gone." Russia says his eyes stinging a bit

"Oh, sorry for bringing it up" Lisa says though she didn't really sound that sorry.

"Well, I should get these little ones back home. Nice to meet you." Russia says

So, Russia straps the two in their car seats before getting in and driving out of the parking lot.

At home, which hasn't been redecorated since before America died.

Russia parked the car and got out. He went to the back and freed the twins who thundered towards the door.

Russia laughed faintly at them before locking the car. He unlocked the front door and opened it. Immediately, two blurs rushed past him. They dumb their things on the couch and immediately start playing on their Switch. He shakes his head lightly before heading to the kitchen in search of dinner. He looks around and sees he's been neglecting his grocery shopping.

He makes a list and makes his way toward the door. He hesitated. Should he call in a sitter? No, he'll only be gone for a bit.

"I'm gonna head out and get some groceries. I'm trusting you on this." Russua says and he leaves when he hears "Okay, pops" and "Okay, папа" from his two twins.

After grocery shopping

Russia made it back home an less than an hour. He put all of the groceries away. Except, for the ones he needed for dinner.

He started dinner and lamented a bit. America has his own style of cooking and it was nothing like his so they would often fight on who's cooking. In the end, they made a squedual.

He made the food and sectioned it out on three plates. Each portion was relatively close in size. The twins got slightly less as they didn't eat as much as he does yet.

He places the food on the table and lays out the appropriate drinks. D.c. usually had soda while Russia and Moscow shared a taste for less carbonated drinks.

"Guys, get to a stopping place dinners ready!" Russia yelled and sat down.

Two pairs of feet come running into the dining area and the two twins sit in their spots. They start eating quickly wanting to get back to their game.

Russia just eats at a regular pace thinking fondly about his twins.

They finished and got up. They pushed their chairs in.

"Thanks for dinner, Pops" D.C. says before rushing out.

"Yeah, thanks for dinner, папа" Moscow says as if she just remembered before rushing out as well.

Russia finishes and gathers the plates placing them in the sink for later.

He goes to the living room and sees the twins furiously mashing buttons and glaring at the screen.

He moves their backpacks aside and sits on the couch vaguely watching the game.

His thoughts were now wandering as he wasn't so concerned with household things.

He thought of the meeting and what was discussed. They were mostly talking about New America.

New America

He saddened at the reminder. He could almost be his America but he was the slightest bit taller, his eyes were a shade bluer, his mannerisms were different, his accent was different, and he dressed different. The only thing that seemed the same to Russia was the stars and stripes of his flag.

Russia snapped out of his thoughts when his son asked "Are you okay Pops? Your crying."

He touched his flag and felt the wetness of tears he had not shed since the day America died.

"I-it's nothing" He said quickly wiping away the liquid expression of his inner turmoil.

"папа, it doesn't seem like nothing" Moscow said on a worried tone.
"You never cry for no reason. Ypu always have a reason"

Russia shakes his head lightly not wanting to spill the details.

"Is it about mom?" D.C. asks softly knowing he's treading on uncertain territory.

Russia just nods trying not to cry. He feels his two twins hug him gently.

"It's okay папа, you can cry. You need to let out your emotions. You can't keep bottling it up like this" Moscow says lightly

Russia ended up crying that day. He cried until his sockets were strained from all the crying.

He got up feeling a bit better and herded the twins to their rooms. He kissed both good night and left heading for his own bed.

He sits on the bed and runs his hand over the silky fabric. He looks at a small box slightly hidden by the things in his closet. He goes over and opens the box. Inside are things America had back then. He ran his hand over a bandana he would use when Texas was being more showy than usual. He shifts around before pulling out his phone. He couldn't find it in himself to get rid of the phone.

He started crying again at the reminder. He quickly shoved the phone back in the box shoving it back in the closet choking back sobs and crying himself to sleep.

A/N- I literally wrote most of this chapter during my off instead of reading. I guess I was just so inspired to write this. Despite the fact this story is complete trash. This chapter is unedited so if you didn't notice the silly mistakes know they were probably everywhere.
