Russia was sitting by the fire watching his 2-year-old twins playing with their new presents. Russia smiled lightly but saddened as he thought about his last Christmas with America. When he was given the best gift any man could ask for.

Flashback~

Russia woke up to the sweet smell of waffles wafting through the slightly cracked door.

He smiles as he got out of bed and stumbled downstairs in the Christmas pajamas America insisted he wear. He saw his husband happily cooking waffles in his Christmas onesie. He had different sunglasses that fit the Christmas season.

"Good morning Ruski~," America said turning around and smiling at him. He seemed to glow in the bright lights of the Kitchen as he turned back to plate breakfast

"Goob morning Meri," Russia says with the nickname only he could get away with.

"Ruski, I told you not to call me that," America says with a pout as he places two plates of waffles.

"You're adorable when you pout~," Russia says making America blush

"Just eat your waffles mister" America grumbled still slightly pink.

Russia laughed slightly before digging into the waffles. He moaned at the amazing flavor.

America blushed as his mind went into the gutter (like I'm sure some of yours did). He quickly came out though.

"Meri, you spoil me with your amazing cooking~," Russia says

"I'm not that good" America mutters

"Your the best cook I know and I'm lucky enough to be your husband," Russia says making America blush a bit more. They started to eat in silence.

"Nada would kill me if he knew I made waffles instead of pancakes" America finally said.

Russia laughed before grabbing the two empty plates and moving them to the sink.

"I believe it is now time for presents~," Russia said

"Yay, presents!!!" America yells running over to the tree making Russia shake his head fondly.

America was already separating the presents into different piles. America's was slightly bigger as Russia spoiled him rotten.

"Okay, let's open the stockings first!" America said taking out two stockings full to the brim with different presents.

Russia loved watching America's face as he absolutely loved Christmas. He was opening his stocking presents first so Russia got to watch his face light up with each new thing despite what it was.

America smiled up at Russia as he gestured to his staocking. Russia opened his and smiled at some of the things he had gotten.

After he was done, America was practically bouncing in anticipation. Russia smiled at his childish husband.

"Why don't you open your presents?" Russia said

America smiled as he grabbed his first present.

"To America, From Canada" America read aloud before tearing at the maple leaf wrapping paper.

He smiled at the assortment of Maple Syrup that he was so gonna use in future breakfasts.

Russia has yet to find a present that truly devastated the American as he would always look on the bright side of things. America grabbed his next present which was from his father. He pulled out a janky old boot that would devastate anyone. But not America.

"This is great! I could find a use for it I'm sure!" America said happily

Russia was kinda baffled by this but smiled fondly. America got a new cooking tool from his mom because they both shared a love of cooking.

America eventually got to Russia's presents. He smiled softly as he pulled out an engraved locket. He opened the locket and softly stroked the picture inside. He put it around his neck and smiled at Russia.

"Your turn Ruski," America says with a smile on his face.

Russia opens his presents. He gets various brands of Vodka but America got him his favorite. America also got him a few more things. Russia smiled as he set his last present down. He looked up at America who seemed slightly nervous.

"Hey, Russia there's one more present that I got for you..." America smiles nervously.

"What is it America?" Russia said

"But, I don't have it now it takes 9 months to make you see," America said with a small smile

"R-really?" Russia says

Russia runs up and hugs America twirling him around in the air. He was so happy. America laughed as Russia hugged him close. Russia was crying slightly in his happiness.

"Y-your really pr-" Russia looked at America's stomach.

"Yeah, I'm pregnant" America whispers

"How long?" Russia asks

"Three weeks," America said softly

Russia had never been happier in his life. He thought it would be perfect. Just him, America, and their child. He never knew what was to become of America. He never thought that life would be as cruel as it is.

End flashback~

"Pa" little DC said looking up at his father who now had tears in his eyes. Russia looked down at him and saw every feature that was remotely related to America.

"Yeah baby," Russia asks

"Why so sad?" DC asks again drawing the attention of his sister who also looked at her father with her mother's big blue eyes.

"I'll tell you when your older" Russia says wiping his tears and picking up the twins in one swoop.

"It's time for bed young ones," Russia says

"Awh," DC says and Moscow just yawns

Russia places the twins in the nursery and puts away all of their toys. He makes sure the room is clean before going to turn the lights off. A glint of silver catches his eye and he sees the locket he gave to America that one Christmas.

He smiles with tears in his eyes as he turns off the lights and heads to his room for bed. He checks in on the twins and sees them passed out. He goes in and kisses them goodnight with a bittersweet smile. He then quietly closes the door and goes to his room.

He lay in his bed that night wishing he could have his love again for one more Christmas with the twins.
