The girl, with long, thick brown hair hanging down to the middle of her back and almond shaped, hazel eyes that changed color with her mood, sat on her bed organizing her large, purple school binder. The girl's name was Anne Marie Salas. Anne had always hung around the weird kids at school, partly because she wasn't welcome anywhere else, and mostly because she found friends among the strange and misunderstood. That's probably because her and and her friends were a lot alike. That was a good thing for Anne, because they would keep her powers a secret, no matter what. She couldn't quite understand what her powers were and that frightened her; and for Anne, being scared, sad, angry, or upset in any way was extremely dangerous. She didn't exactly know how to control her powers yet. For example, if someone was scaring her, they might get thrown across the room by her powers. Unfortunately, Anne was very shy, so this sort of thing was prone to happening quite often. Luckily, she has good friends to keep her happy, which quells her powers considerably.

Anne sighed suddenly and looked at her mess of a binder. She had been left at home while her family went to the pumpkin patch for Halloween pictures. She had been left at home because she had gotten grounded for getting home late from tutoring, without calling to inform her parents. So here she was, sitting on her bed, organizing the worst mess she had ever seen.

"Why did I ever let it get this bad?" Anne muttered irritably to herself. "I've still got papers from August in here!" She sighed once more before getting back to work. A few minutes later she realized how hot it was in her room, so Anne stood on her bed and opened her window, lowering it to a mere crack after opening the screen. Suddenly, Anne decided it was about time she took a bathroom break so she jumped off her bed and walked towards the door. As she was leaving the room, she heard a light tap, tap.... tap, tap at her window. Thinking for sure that the tap was the one her good friend Lynnette Grace Hawkthorne, whom Anne had told to tap on her window if anything went wrong at Lynnette's house, would have used, Anne felt a small smile creep onto her face.

"Come in Lynnette!" She said cheerfully, but slight worry began creeping into her voice. Her only true friend usually only came over when there was something wrong. "The window is open!" And at that she walked down the hall to the bathroom.

~~~~~~ Wow, well um I hope that was an alright chapter. It sort of just introduced Anne ( my character btw) It was probably a pretty boring chapter too but I really truly promise it's gonna get better. Hope ya liked it! Oh, and don't worry, the next few chapters will be a little longer.
