After going to the bathroom, Anne washed her hands, staring absently at the mirror. What on Earth could have gone wrong? Normally Lynnette would have waited until around 10:00 to come over here, and it's only 7:00pm now. Hmmm.... Anne walked back to her room and a scream caught in her throat. Her window had been thrown wide open and Lynnette was the person Anne had been expecting to see, but it was most definitely not Lynnette. A person and a tall... thing... was in her room. The thing was a tall, slender... man? He had black tentacles protruding from his back and was wearing a suit and had a pale face, no... not a face, just a pale, featureless surface! The person was not as tall and he looked about 19, a year older than Anne, and was obviously male. This was easy to tell only from his build, not his face, which was concealed by a mask. He had brown hair and was wearing an orange sweater and blue-jeans. But what really drew Anne's attention to him was his mask, which was really quite simple. It had sort of a feminine look to it and it had black lips, black eyebrows, and black eye sockets. Anne turned towards her door, but it was closed. She started to hyperventilate and her eyes began to widen. I... I didn't close that! What's going on?! Who are these people!?

"There's no point in trying to run." Said the boy in the mask. Somehow Anne could tell it was not quite the boy talking, but the tall man's words coming from the boy's mouth. "You can't escape the inevitable." She turned to face the tall man and the boy.

"W..who are you?!" She said, trying to keep her voice steady and as menacing as possible, but it all just came out as pitiful stuttering. "Why are you h..here?!" The boy merely chuckled.

"I'm Masky" Masky pointed to himself. "And this is Slenderman," He pointed to the tall man. He sounded like he was speaking for himself this time!! Thought Anne. Oh God, what's going on?!

"And I'm afraid we're here to kill you." Anne was able to sense Masky smile and she backed away from them slowly, until her back hit the wall. She whimpered and Anne could tell that the two of them were taking great pleasure in her reaction.

"N..no! St...stay away from me!" Anne said, tears filling her eyes. "J..just get out of my house!" She screamed at them, terrified. Slenderman, completely ignoring her pleas, strode confidently towards Anne, Masky in tow. "GET AWAY!!!" She screamed at the top of her lungs. The pair suddenly flew backwards, hitting the wall with a loud boom. Cracks blossomed outwards on the wall from were their backs hit it. Masky let out a low moan and Slenderman rose quickly. Anne whimpered slightly as she began to feel nauseous and hear ringing in her ears. Slenderman, though he had no face, seemed enraged and the ringing only grew louder. She covered her ears and rocked back and forth. Various objects from around the room rose in the air and piled themselves into a wall in front of Anne.

"Go away, go away, go away, go away, go away!" She repeated the words over and over again, fear filling her voice as she began to cry softly. "Go away, go away, go away, go away!" Suddenly she stopped and the only thing Masky and Slenderman could here was her gentle, barely audible crying.

Masky stood painfully, wobbling slightly, but then regaining his balance. He looked up at Slenderman.

"So, what should we do?" Asked Masky, only loud enough for Slenderman to hear.

Using Masky, Slenderman sighed and the pair shook their heads simultaneously(At the same time).

"I'm not sure Masky. How about you make the call this time?" said Slenderman.

"Well she's obviously special. Can we make her a proxy!?" Masky looked up hopefully at Slenderman. Slenderman sighed (just gonna put it like that cuz we all know he's talking through Masky), not sure he could refuse his proxy's request.

"If she can handle my voice in her head, then yes. But if not....." Slenderman did not have to finish his sentence for Masky to understand.

"Yes, of course! I understand!" Slenderman sighed once more.

"Child, you may come out of hiding now. We promise not to hurt you as long as you do as we say." Anne's crying slowly stopped and, though she knew they couldn't see her, she shook her head vigorously.

"You're lying to me. I heard you two whispering out there. You'll just kill me the second I come out!" Anne said, distrustfully.

"No of course not. We just have a little test for you, alright? We really do promise not to harm you."
"And depending on whether I pass or fail, you'll still kill me, won't you?" Anne waited for a moment that seemed to take centuries. There was no response. "So I was right, wasn't I?"

"Yes. Yes, you were." Masky looked sadly up at Slenderman, then suddenly blurted out.

"How about we give you three choices. You can either come with us willingly or forcefully. If you fight back too much, or try to escape, then and only then will we kill you."

"Masky!!" Slenderman sighed. "It's not your place to make these decisions. But I suppose it will be fine..... this time." They heard Anne sniffle and stand. I see no other choice. Thought Anne.

"I...I can't control my powers, so I can't move any of this." Anne said softly, referring to the wall of items. "Masky, Slenderman; you'll have to help me move it all." Masky looked at Slenderman, slightly surprised by her quick decision. They both walked to the pile and began removing objects and placing them back in their original places, Anne helping as much as a scared teenage girl could.

"Please, child, call me Slender, for short." Said Slenderman.

"A..alright, um S..Slender." Masky and Slender finally put everything back in place and they stood in front of Anne, who had gotten up and sat on the bed. "So," she said nervously. "What's the test?"

"Well," said Slender. "If you can handle my voice in your head, and recite everything I say perfectly, then you will become one of my proxies. If not, then you will come with us, so that you cannot reveal to anyone there events of tonight. But as Masky said, if you resist us too much, then you will die."

He said the second to last sentence grudgingly, as if that's not at all what he had wanted to say. Anne looked just a bit confused.

"Proxy? What's a proxy?" Slender's....face, contorted into an annoyed expression.
"Well, seeing as I don't have a mouth, I use proxies to communicate. I tell my proxies what I want to say using tell telepathy and his or her communicates it verbally. Do you understand now, child?" She looked slightly amused.

"Yes actually. That, surprisingly, makes quite a bit of sense!" In spite herself and her situation, she giggled. It appeared as if she was becoming a little less shy. "Ok then." She said, turning deadly serious. "I'm ready to take this test."

"Alright then. Here goes nothing." Suddenly Anne looked quite uncomfortable. She rubbed her head and then looked up, opening her mouth and, in her best serious voice, began to speak:

"Can you hear me child? Ah, yes, I suppose you can. Well, Masky, you got what you wanted. Anne Marie Salas, there is one last thing I must do." Suddenly, Slenderman touched the base of her throat and she winced. He pulled away his fingers and left in their place was a circle with an X through it, engraved in her skin. "Now, you are a proxy. We need to go to Slender Mansion next. It's what Masky, a few others and I call home. It will be your new home, from here on out."

Anne nodded and looked at Masky. I'd be able to bring a few things, right?" She asked, a little sadly.

"Yes, of course!" said Masky. "It's no problem at all!" She smiled gratefully.

"Thankyou." And with that she grabbed a small duffel bag and stuffed some shoes, clothes, toiletries (tooth brush, deodorant, ect.), her kindle and charger, books, and some jewelry into it. She turned to them, ready to leave and they all approached her window. "I can't believe I'm finally leaving this place. And today of all days." Anne said softly to herself. The trio climbed out of her still open window, not even bothering to close it as they left for Slender Mansion.
