It's nearly 10. Thank God. I've been waiting until now to go to Anne's house. I flipped my brown hair away from my acid green eyes quickly and frowned. She's literally the only person who even tries to understand me. And she's the only person to ever have understood. People think I'm a little weird because of my.... heightened perspective. I can smell and hear like a wolf and see like a hawk. I can pause scenes from the past mentally. When I told my mom that there was a murder in my room, she didn't believe me. She just beat me and told me to shutup or she'd send me to a loony house! I tried to explain to her that I could see it when I closed my eyes. That I saw the whole thing play out. I started keeping these things hidden. She would never understand.

Then I met Anne. She was so shy, and on the first day of high school, she just kept staring at me and giving me small little smiles. Just before the day ended, she came up to me all scared looking. She just kept trying. Trying to be my friend. I couldn't understand! Everybody else already hated my guts, so why not this kid? Then I felt it. This... static feeling around her. And... it felt like somebody was peering into my soul. Then I realized that's really was what was happening. She smiled all big, hazel eyes getting all narrow and squinty and thinning brown hair bouncing lightly around her narrow face. "U..um h..hi there. Um....c..can we be fr..friends? You s..seem nice..." Her voice was so gentle and caring. The static around her increased, but the fresh bruises my mother inflicted on my body yesterday seemed to fade. I no longer felt the pain. I smiled and threw my arm around her shoulder cockily. "No problem... friend!" Anne laughed happily. It was music to my ears. I smiled my first real smile then.

Weeks later, we became the best of friends, and trusted each other completely. She told me about her powers and home life, and I told her about mine. She told me where she lived and told me I could come over if anything ever went wrong at my house. We even had our own special tap. All was well then, but then he came. He took me, and I stayed for months. I was so selfish!!! I never thought of Anne, or how my disappearance would impact her!! She eventually haunted my thoughts. How could I?, I would always think. She never would have left me. Eventually, I left the mansion, and returned home. Anne..... Oh Anne. She had almost gone insane without me. Even Alex and Luna hadn't been able to comfort her. Alex and Luna were two of our other frie... uh, acquaintances. But now wasnt the time to reminiscence. Now was the time for flight.

I snapped back to reality as I neared Anne's house. Something was definitely wrong. I cut through the neighbor's yard and into Anne's. I kept my distance from the woods behind her fence. Nothing good was in those woods.

I neared the door where Anne's window was, then noticed it was open. Oh dear God. That was my only thought as I crawled through her open window. She never left her window open. And Anne was not in her room. Things were ever so slightly out of place. Both Anne and I were sticklers for

details, and nothing was ever out of place. Then, there were the cracks. Definite signs of Anne's powers having been used. I took a deep breath and..... and I closed my eyes.

Two people I knew very well were in here with Anne. Masky and Slenderman himself. Goddamnit!!! Why can't he just leave me alone!!! I watched as Anne called items to her, then slowly but surely, became a proxy. I opened my eyes. One thought.
NO.
NO.
NONONONONONO!!!!!

She went with them! She went and she left me here!!! She'll go insane there!! That mansion changes you!!! She doesn't know what she's gotten herself into. I've got to get her back but...
But she left me.
I didn't leave her.
But she did.
No.

She had to leave. She didn't have a choice. I sighed. I could at least give her parents a hint. I slipped on my gloves and raided Anne's room for a piece of paper and a pen. Once those were found, I wrote with my messiest handwriting; "I TOOK HER" and then at the bottom of the page a large circle with an X through it. Now, I'm going to find her. I slipped out her window after placing the note on the bed and quickly erased any signs that anyone, or anything, had been near Anne's window. I followed the trail she had left by touching things, scuffing her boots, and leaning on fences. She's too damn smart, I swear. Left a trail just to the point where even old Slendy couldn't notice... I continued after the trail, continuing to erase evidence as I went. As I approached the woods behind her house, I stopped and yelled at the top of my lungs.

"I KNOW YOU HAVE HER!!! GIVE HER BACK TO ME SLENDERMAN!!! GIVE ANNE MARIE SALAS BACK!!!" I was going to find her. I was going to get her back. And so, I charged into the woods after my one and only friend.
