Chapter 10

The man who was clinging to Lan Wangji the other day was now stuck like glue to Nie Huaisang.

The sight was giving Jiang Cheng mixed feelings, he was happy that Huaisang had someone now but what about Wei Wuxian?

Jiang Xiong, if you bring back my brother, I will bring  back your brother.

These words had been echoing in Jiang Cheng's head since they had been said. He'd been so focused on blaming Wei Wuxian for leaving him all alone that he failed to see that he was not the only one in the cycle of misery. Many many people lost someone and most were completely alone, like Huaisang and Wen Ning.

Ever since The Reveal of Golden core happened, all of his anger all of his hatred just lost direction. In reality, Jiang Cheng was looking for a way to end the cycle of hatred - he created himself. His sorrow took the shape of anger and he ventured on the  path of pride,  not letting his heart waver. But it wasn't him, it wasn't the boy who grew up beside a trouble maker. He himself was quite the mischievous kid. He wanted to bring those days back.

He was tired.

"Wen Ning dreamt about Wei Wuxian and Chifeng-zun."
Jiang cheng informed the couple sitting in front of him and Sect leader Lan. Lan Xichen had sent him the letter as well but they were not Sandhu Shenghshou to cross the sky in minutes.  Lan Xichen was quiet, too quiet. There was not even a hint of  that smile which he had been carrying before.

"What are you trying to say Jiang-Xiong?" Nie Huaisang asked in disbelief. Before he could question further, Mo Xuanyu shouted.

"He's fixed! Da-ge is fixed! Yiling Laozu really did it!" 

Jiang Cheng, Lan Xichen and Nie Huaisang were wonderstruck. What does that even mean?

"Sang-Xi! Yiling Laozu fixed your brother's soul now we can summon him."
Mo Xuyanu hugged Nie Huaisang. He (NHS) was shocked and didn't even notice when the tears rolled down his face. He hugged the younger male so tight almost making him choke.

Lan Xichen's face gave all shades of colors, he didn't know what to feel or how to feel. Lan Xichen felt so helpless, so alone. Jiang Cheng patted the broad Lan shoulder which made Lan Xichen eye Jiang Cheng.

Is he trying to comfort me? How thoughtful.

Jiang Cheng had always been thoughtful of others although the way he express it was a bit... Lan Xichen remembered their encounter just after the fall of Lotus Pier.

[Flashback: After the Golden Core transfer]

"Jiang Wanyin!"
Lan Xichen called the man in tattered robes and dusty face. Lan Xichen had been on run since Cloud Recess was burnt and from the hearsay he learnt about the tragedy of Lotus Pier's fall. He heard both Sect Leader JIang and Madam Yu had been killed along with all sect memebers. He was happy to see that Jiang Wanyin was alive, he made it through.

"I can't find... He's lost... What if they took him..." Jiang Cheng was barely holding back his tears, He looked so hurt, so lost and so broken. 

"We will find him!  You need to eat something and rest first!" Lan Xichen couldn't ignore the sight before him. He was of same age as his brother, merely 17. Lan Xichen learnt that Jiang Wanyin was hysterical so, he grabbed the man through his waist and lead his feeble body out of the mountains.

Why isn't he performing Inedia? 

Jiang Cheng was too desperate to find the lost person that he forgot to perform Inedia. His mind was filled with horrifying thoughts .
