Chapter 38

They  soared to the sky, each blade brighter than the other. Jiang Fengmian was leading the way, Both maidens directly behind while Wei Changze  guarding from rear.

The trip had been peaceful as Wei Changze would have said but it was filled with two maidens chit chatting about the most mundane things in life. But Wei Changze's eyes were fixated on the Cangse Sanren and her strange core. Wei Changze's blade was forged out of the Golden Silk, which enabled him to read the flow of the Core. Moreover, his own core was specially formed by an immortal.

"Gentleman, is this any way of gawking a Miaden?" Cangse Sanren tantalized Wei Changze acting all embarrassed. 

"If you have that much problem with me, why not answer my questions?"  Wei Changze counter questioned. The Duo could kill each other but wouldn't accept defeat. 

Yu Ziyuan and Jiang fengmian both looked at them, Those two clearly had something  going on. What questions he had been asking her? 

"Now Now, Young master, you mustn't pester a lady, otherwise you'll stay single forever." 

The rest of the journey was the same, the two of them fighting as if competing for most annoying person on the planet. JIang Fengmian only smiled at their childish behavior but deep down, he was envious. 

They arrived at Yunmeng earlier than anticipated, it was mostly because they were too focused on the duo quarreling that they lost sight of time. 

"Sect Leader Jiang, I am headed to my next destination, thank you for allowing me to travel alongside. " Cangse Sanren bowed and prepared to leave.

"Wait!" Jiang Fengmian almost shouted. 

"I mean, Lady Sanren I suggest that you take rest before travelling again." Jiang Fengmian was determined  to know about the mysterious Cultivator. He needed answers so he could openly confess to her without putting Lotus pier at any risk.

"I'm good, travelling is all I do hence my name." Cangse Sanren said shrugging he shoulders.

"I insist." Jiang Fengmian  learnt from Qingheng Jun that love should be treasured not taken for granted and he was willing to give it a go. 

"I don't see why not." Cangse Sanren peeked over Wei Changze who had  'hell no' face on. The more he wanted her away the more Cangse wanted to tease to him. But it was  not just for fun, Wei Changze would see her the way others wouldn't and that made Cangse Sanran both anxious and excited. 

"I will take my leave, Sect Leader Jiang" Yu Ziyuan said bowing. 

"Be careful on your way back, Lady Yu." Jiang Fengmian politely stated. That was the first indication. Yu Ziyuan didn't want to think much of  it but it had started to become visible, Jiang Fengmian's concealed emotions. 

She left with a heavy heart, praying that it was all that.

"Lady Sanren, if it isn't too much personal I would like to know where you come from." Jiang Fengmian had finally asked. Jiang Fengmian and Cangse Sanren were sitting in the main pavilion having afternoon meal. 

"Sect leader Jiang, I don't mind answering but I'd want you to assure the privacy of it."  Cangse Sanren was perceptive and she knew she could trust Jiang Fengmian.

"Of course, Lady Sanren! you have my words." Jiang Fengmian gave an reassuring smile and Cangse Sanren smiled back. It was perhaps for the first time, she smiled without teasing. 

"I am the disciple of The great immortal, Baoshao Sanren."  

Jiang Fengmian almost dropped the cup he was holding. It was not as if Cultivators never heard of immortals, in fact they all believed 8 immortals to be in existence. But none could surely really claimed to see one. Many cultivators even set on life long journeys just to find the great immortals but whoever encountered them, ended up believing it was just a dream.
