MALEFICENT
Another cold winter hits the Moors....but this time my home is changed for the worse. The humans have perfected brutal climate control to flush out unwanted species. My home was gone because of them, and the life within it gone as well. The fairy folk, the trees, the beautiful nature colorful lust...all gone. I cannot reach war against the humans beyond the forest, because they have iron. Something that could kill me for good. But I shouldn't be surprised, I've known how they were for decades now but I never thought they could be so ruthless. I thought living lands away from them was far enough for peace. PEACE! Is not in their nature. If they only seen how nature lived in harmony while it was with me...then they would know what it really was.
They hide in their castles full of weapons, archery, bullets, fire....the very thing that destroys earth....they play with. How did they become the rulers of earth? The rulers of lands? How when they're so toxic!
I fall to the ground, onto my knees raking my fingertips through the corse, burnt, hard, and lifeless land. How am I surprised when one of them scorned me? Their heartless...while my heart is full...evil while I am too fair. I should've taken these lands...all of them by force, instead of a single territory.
"Rest my friends." I whisper to the ground closing my eyes and vividly picturing the graves below the bitter ruins; the small and big corpses. "I will avenge you all."
Instantly my mind goes back to the dreadful memory:
A glamorous, bright and sunny day. Green as the world could make it, the moors were. Fluttering with life, warmth and sweetness. With true love. I stroll the grounds, my skin glowing with happiness and calmness. The smell of the flowers around me taking me back to my childhood. My small body lying in the grass, enjoying the sun as it baked me. Watching the rays of sun entering the meadow.
"Good morning!" I rejoice to the lively beings around me, holding my head high with pride and power. Each one of the fairy folk bow to me gracefully. I smile.
"Morning Maleficent!" The small folk rejoice around me, spinning and circling my head, sprinkling dandelions where I stood. My eyes follow the white pieces as they hit the ground, first being joyful...then turning curious as they flowers hit the grass, which drains quickly of its vibrancy .
"NOO!!" I raise up from the ground, ending the painful memory, clutching my fist.
