"How are you today, Y/N?"
"...."

Another day here at the Arkham Asylum. Let just say, it fucking sucks. The bathroom looks disgusting, the food fucking sucks, everyone is loud as hell, can't walk outta this place without getting beat up or raped, and the worst of all, the fuckin' people who try to "help" you, don't give a flying FUCK about you. They only ask the same questions over, and over again. It was getting irritating and annoying.

"Y/N? Are you listening-"
"What do you think? I've been in here for a month and its making me even crazier. Everyday is the same. I don't feel anything. I can't feel pain like I used to."
You spoke while leaning up against the wall, sitting on the cold, concrete beneath you, hitting your head against the brick wall.
"You're getting released today. The least you can do is be happy about it."
"Happy? HAPPY?"
You laughed dryly. You stopped hitting your head, looking over at her.
"Don't test the monster in me."
She stood there with a serious expression while stepping back a bit. You chuckled and stood up.
"C'mon! Why so serious? I was just joking!"
You giggled and walked past her.
"Let's go, we can't keep my father waiting!"
You said happily, with a wide smile on your face. But on the inside...

Its monstrous.. Dark... Scary... Depressed... It sucked... To make it worse, you're going to have to go back to your father's apartment. You can't afford living on your own, can't even afford food.

~1 hour later~

"See ya-"
"Hold it."
The nurse stopped you while handing you a paper for your medication. You looked at the slip and sighed.
"Didn't I tell you that this shit doesn't work?"
"Give it a try, Y/N. I know you hate taking it, but it's a more higher dosage. Remember, take one everyday. Just one will do."
The nurse said while you nod.

The sweet release from the hell hole Asylum. You hated the smell from the asylum, but you hated the city smell even more.
"Oh boy... How much I would give to ditch this place and never look back.."
You mumbled while walking on the sidewalk. You already knew that your father wasn't going to pick you up. You wished you could get a car, but it's WAY to much. You're only 17 years old, almost 18. But you honestly didn't care much for your birthday.

Drunks are everywhere, crazies, and robbers are everywhere. Just when you thought it was getting better, it wasn't.
You didn't really care about your health, your mother left you when you were just a baby, dad got depressed, he started drinking, and started hitting me from time to time because I look like her, blah blah blah...

Not like anyone will listen to my stories anyway. No one gives a shit.

You looked up to see people pass by me. Then you saw that clown again. You've seen this man dress up as a clown for a while, but you've always had a feeling that he's different from others.

Apparently you were staring a bit too long, he noticed at the corner of his eye. He was dancing around, flipping the sign around upside down. You looked away and walked passed him. He didn't say anything, but did his act as a clown, throwing his sign up in the air, and catching it.

~3 hours later~

It was now 6 pm, it was a bit dark. It felt like hours, but you didn't want to go home. Knowing that you're probably just going to get yelled at. You sat in a random ally way, smoking a cigarette while singing a small song, smiling a bit.
"That's life ~ And as funny as it seem~ Some people get their kicks, Stompin' on a dream, but I don't let it, let it take me down, 'Cause this fine old world, it keeps spinnin' around~" You always had a talent, of singing. It was your favorite hobby, but you never really got to pursue your dreams. You just had to stay home, and take care of your father.

"Y-You have a beautiful voice."

You quickly looked behind you, seeing someone that looked so familiar, but you couldn't put your finger on it.
"Thank you." You said softly, feeling your cheeks heat up a bit. He smiled softly. It's been a long time since you heard a compliment from anyone. Even from a guy. He looked a bit older, but he looked so innocent and cute. His dark brown hair, ocean blue eyes, and his innocent smile, it was so adorable. Then you realized...
"Wait... I've seen you before... Were you the one holding that sign?"
He chuckled softly and nods. God, even his laugh is adorable.
"Yeah, t-that was me. My names Arthur. Pleasure to meet you." He held out a hand. You smiled softly and shook his hand.
"My names Y/N, nice to meet you." You say smiling as he smiled as well.
"I'm guessing you like Frank Sinatra's music?"
"Like? I love his music!" You said happily while he laughed a bit.

~1 hour later~

The two of you started talking about music nonstop. Or just random things. It's weird, but you feel so attracted to Arthur. You've never had this feeling before in your life. You were a tuff girl. You can take hits, fight back, and lie really good.
"Oh, this is my stop. My dad is expecting me to be home by now." You say softly while looking at the apartment.
"Weird thing is, I live here too!" Arthur sounded like a child, but it was too adorable.
"That's fantastic! Then we don't have to look for each other." You smiled softly and he did too. Your heart fluttered at his smile, causing you to slightly blush.

You both entered the building, taking the elevator to your floors. Yours was the second floor, Arthur's was on the third floor.
"I'll see you tomorrow?" Arthur said softly.
"Sounds great! Goodnight Arthur."
"Goodnight Y/N!" He waves at you and smiled, the elevator door shut slowly.

You smiled softly at the thought of his laughter, smile, and joy in his eyes.

You entered the apartment, seeing it was a complete mess. Beer, candy wrappers, cigars, cigarettes, bag of chips, basically it looked like a dumpster. You groaned at the stench of strong liquor. Someone started stumbling towards the door, assuming it was your father.
"Where were you?"
You didn't answer.
"Where the fuck were you?!"
A glass bottle flew towards your head, but you didn't even flinch. Luckily, it missed you by an inch. Glass flew everywhere, hitting your cheek, making it bleed a bit.
".... Arkham Asylum. Where the fuck else-"
"DON'T TALK BACK!" He hit you across the face with a bottle of liquor. You stumbled a bit, holding your head, blood dripped down your head.
"Fuck you asshole!! Someday, just someday, I'll move out of this shit hole and never come back!" You yelled as you pushed him out the way, making him fall over, since he stumbles and he's drunk.
"Fuck you bitch!"
"Mom's dead because of you! You useless prick!" You slammed the door to your bedroom and slid down your door, crying silently. "She's fucking gone...."
