Sera's POV

Ugh. Balls. I hate balls.

Here I am, dressed in the finest jewels and gown, grumbling at my demise.

There is never a second of peace and quiet here.

Apparently, my dear old father held it for me to celebrate my twenty first birthday. But really, I think it is just an excuse to invite suitors for me to choose from.

Everything seemed like a blur. One moment I may be dancing in someone's arms and the next I would be greeting allies and suitors.

I felt a sense of dizziness rising in my head. I rubbed my temples, sighing. A headache. Great. Just what I needed.
"Are you alright your Highness?" A male voice asked, concern hinting.

"Yes, I'm fine..I just need some fresh air. I'll manage." I mumbled and slipped away from the bustling crowd.

I stumbled onto a secluded balcony. Glancing up at the star-filled sky, I sighed, taking in the cool fresh air.
I rested my arms on the balcony ledge, the wind blowing my hair gently. I never liked parties. Its even worse that there are so many...people around. I rarely ever conversed with anyone outside of the castle, being a shut-in princess after all. My parents claim it is for my safety. But I am sure that they do not want me to follow my sister's footsteps and run away from the castle, my legacy.

My pointed ears twitched. Really...

"You really have to ruin the moment I'm having here, Lucid."

My personal maid stepped out onto the balcony, a wry smile on her face. Her purple-hued eyes stared back at my ice cold ones.

I sighed. Maybe I can get past her..
"I'm feeling rather...ill now.." I lied through my teeth, mumbling weakly. "I do wish to return to my quarters. Do help me explain to the King about my absence."

All she did was smiled simply and walked towards me. I pursed my lips. Did she buy it?

"Oh really Princess? I do suggest otherwise." Her eyes glowed indigo as she grabbed my arm.

I winced at her grip.

"Now come, your guests are waiting."
I sighed. Damn. I was so close.

Begrudgingly, I let her drag me away from the balcony and into the ballroom.

"Tap!"

What?

I turned around to the sound of shoes tapping on the marble floor and sounds of a cape fluttering in the night breeze.

I couldn't really make out anything, but I swore I saw a hooded figure with glinting golden eyes staring at me.

I blinked.

It disappeared.

What is that?

"Anything wrong Princess?"

I held my tongue.

"No..Let's return to the ballroom."

(Times skip)~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I don't know why, but, I just had this feeling to go back to the secluded balcony.

Some how, I managed to get past Lucid, who I did not see for most of the night.

Why did I wanted to come here? Is it something related to that figure I saw earlier? I seriously wanted to doubt my feelings.

I stepped onto the marble tiled balcony. I was right. The hooded figure stood there, his back facing me as he admired the night sky.
