Happy Birthday. (John x Sera)

John's POV

I opened the door to my house. I stepped in and was greeted by a certain magenta haired  girl with green highlights. She sat on the sofa, playing games on her phone.

"Seriously John, you are gonna get robbed one day." She looked up from her screen.

"Yea yea I know that Sera." I waved my hand about carefreely. "I don't have anything worth of value to be stolen anyways."

Sera stood up, brushing her jeans.

"First of all.." She walked over to me.

"Happy birthday." She smiled warmly.

I smiled back in return. It was rare of her to smile anyways. I kinda wanna take a picture. She looks too beautiful like that.

She turned away, slightly embarrassed.

"Anyways." She turned back after regaining her composure. "I need to go shopping. Can you come with me please?"

She gave me one of those looks that made my heart melt a little.

"Ummmm well I got um stuff to do...-" I stuttered. I have ran out of excuses.

"So you are just going to let a defenseless girl go alone?" She gave me a disappointed look.

Damn. Why is she so great at guilt tripping me?

"Fineeeeeeeee." I groaned. "Just don't take too long."

"Great. We can stop for boba too." She grinned cheekily.

What a tsundere...

"What a tsundere..." I muttered under my breath without realizing.

"What was that?" She turned around sharply. Pointedly glaring at me.

"N-nothing!" I smiled nervously. I absolutely did not want to get on her bad side.

"Alright then birthday boy." She gave me a small wink. "I won't take too long since its your birthday." She grabbed my wrist, pulling me along while snagging her wallet from the counter top.

I feel myself blush slightly. This tsundere is too cute sometimes. Welp, this is going to be a long day...

(Timeskip.)

Sera sipped on her mango boba. "I didn't take long today. I felt it was quite fast."

I rolled my eyes. "Yep you took about 3 hours. I wouldn't call that long." My voice dripped sarcastically.

She gave me an amused look. "You have finally learnt the fine art of sarcasm!" She quipped.

We both burst out laughing after a short pause. "Well I learnt it from a great master." I grinned at Sera.

I took a glance at my watch. "Its pretty late. You wanna sleep over at my house?" I asked her.

"Sure. Let me text Elaine about this." She took out her phone from her pocket. Typing quickly.

We walked towards my house in a slightly awkward silence as Sera continued texting Elaine.

"Whew. Finally." She let out a deep breath, turning off her phone and placing it back in her pocket.

"Anything wrong?" I looked at her.

"Nah." She closed her eyes, thinking. "I have to argue with Elaine about this. She's too overly concerned about me sometimes."

"If you are too uncomfortable, I don't mind walking you back to the dorms." I said, slightly apologetic.

"No, its fine. Besides, we are already at your house anyways." She took ghe keys from my hand and unlocked the door.

I stepped into the house, closing and locking the door behind me.

Sera has already sat on the couch, shopping bags placed in the table. She sat there quietly, deep in thought.

I sat beside her. Not knowing what to say.

"Hey John." She glanced up suddenly. Her icy blue eyes intent on saying something.

"Y-yes?"

"I am going to tell you something, but do not freak out alright?" She stared at my burnt golden orbs, expression serious.

"Alright." I nodded.

She took a deep breath.

"I like you?" She said it so quickly and quietly I could just barely catch it.

"W-wait what? Say that again, slowly and louder please." I felt a little confused, my stomach fluttering with excitementand anticipation. Did she really say...?

"I like you?" She looked at me embarrassedly, face flushing red as she avoided my eyes.

I felt my own face go warm. But I smiled.

I chuckled as she puffed out her cheeks. "John! Its not funny! I've just told you what I really felt about you! And I do not think this is infatuation or puppy love either!"

I was laughing by now. Sera puffed out her cheeks. "John!" She huffed, face blushing scarlet .

"I'm sorry." I chuckled, putting an arm around her. "Your expression just now was too cute."

She crossed her arms.

"You-!"

I silenced her with a kiss.

Her eyes widened and her hands moved but stopped there all of a sudden. She slowly came to accept my kiss and leaned in as well.

"I like you too you tsudere." I feel my lips spread into a grin when I pulled apart from her.

"I am not a tsundere!" She muttered crossly.

"You are a tsundere!" I laughed, poking her cheek.

She unfolded her arms and leaned into me. What surprised me most is when she hugged me tightly, burying her face in my chest.

She looked up, her usual ice cold eyes shining with embarrassment with a tint of happiness. She gave me a wide smile.

"Happy birthday John."
