Dec. 22nd:

It was Hanukkah. However, it was the first one that Jake would be spending without his late brother Puck. Jake frowned at the reality that he was alone at home with no one to spend the holidays with, until he got a knock at the door. Jake got up from his couch and went to open the door. It was Ryder, Spencer, & Joe! "What are you guys doing here?" "You looked like you needed some company." Spencer said. "I hope we're not intruding." Ryder said. "Oh no, come on in guys." Jake replied. "Would you like something to drink?" He asked. "I'll take tea." Ryder said. "I'll take Milk." Spencer said. "I'll just have water." Joe said. "I'll join you for that." Jake said. "So I thought you guys had plans for Christmas." "Madison's spending time with Mason, but I got a date with her on New Year's Eve though." Spencer replied. "Lucky you." Ryder said. "What about you Ryder?" Joe asked. "No plans really. You?" Ryder asked. "I'm just around." Joe said. "Well, I'm glad you guys are here. I have to admit, it would be boring spending Hanukkah and Christmas alone." Jake said. "Why would you spend it alone?" Ryder said. "My mom and stepmom couldn't get a flight back from California, and well, you know my brother is gone." Jake explained. "Sorry man, must be tough, your first Christmas and Hanukkah without him." Spencer. "Yeah, it's not easy." Jake replied. "That's why we're here." Joe said. "What do you mean?" Jake asked a bit skeptic. "We didn't want you to spend Christmas alone." Ryder said. "We know you're still in mourning, so we thought we'd bring you some holiday cheer." Jake's smile turned huge, then the boys all pulled in for a group hug. "Thanks guys, you're gonna make this holiday season, one to remember." "It's one we're never gonna forget." Ryder said. With that, the guys began to sing:

(Since there are multiple people singing this song, I will specify who is singing in parenthesis, underlined text is them all singing together.)

Welcome to my Christmas song (Jake)
I'd like to thank you for the year (Ryder)
So I'm sending you this Christmas card (Spencer)
To say it's nice to have you here (Joe)
I'd like to sing about all the things (Jake)
Your eyes and mind can see (Ryder)
So hop aboard the turntable (Spencer)
Oh step into Christmas with me (Joe)

Step into Christmas
Let's join together
We can watch the snow fall forever and ever
Eat, drink and be merry
Come along with me
Step into Christmas
The admission's free

Take care in all you do next year (Jake)
And keep smiling through the days (Ryder)
If we can help to entertain you (Spencer)
Oh we will find the ways (Joe)
So merry Christmas one and all (Jake)
There's no place I'd rather be (Ryder)
Than asking you if you'd oblige (Spencer)
Stepping into Christmas with me (Joe)

Step into Christmas
Let's join together
We can watch the snow fall forever and ever
Eat, drink and be merry
Come along with me
Step into Christmas
The admission's free

"Thanks guys." Jake said. "Merry Christmas." Spencer, Ryder, & Joe replied. "Merry Christmas." Jake replied smiling.

This was a nice chapter to write. Jake, despite losing his brother, won't be spending it alone. He'll be spending it with family and friends. Maybe not his immediate family, but family nonetheless.

Anyways, in the next chapter, Scott & Bree will reveal who their secret Santas were!!!

By the way, the Christmas song that the guys sing in this chapter is "Step Into Christmas by Elton John."
