Double Agent

Ben gets the next round in, smiling to himself as he walks back to the table as he sits Callums phone buzzes on the table he glances down and back up "give me a sec its work" he says before getting up and walking a little away answering the phone,

"Good afternoon, is everything okay?"
- other man " tell me where we at with the operation"
" well I have met him, haven't really touched on anything yet!"
- other man "be careful and keep me updated PC Highway"
"Yes Sir"

And he ends the call, a feeling of guilt creeping up inside of him, he knows it's just another job but Ben wasn't just another 'operation' how long could he keep the truth from him but for right now he shakes his head and walks back "hey sorry my boss is my on case recently day off and all" he laughs and then the dreaded question came, "where do you work" he hears Ben ask him, he's never really been on this type of job before sure he's been a undercover cop before but something about this type of job has everything on the line for him, he smiles "I'm an Accountant" he says the words sounding so fake to him but Ben looks a little shocked "oh didn't have you down for that type of person" he laughs looking at Callums and quickly taking a sip of his pint.

The night goes on and before they know it last orders are being called, Ben gets up "one more for the road" Callum just nods watching him walk to the bar. He returns a few moments later as he sits Ben starts to speak "see id be a true gentleman and walk you home" he looks around "but you kinda live here" he laughs and Callum takes the opportunity "well how about I walk you home" he questions and sees the shift in Bens face, "s-sure yeah" he smiles a little smile.

A while later and Callum finds him self indeed walking Ben home, they talk quietly with a laugh or two along the way, they stop out side the gate to his house as Callum looked down he wasn't sure if he had one too many or if it was the light from the moon but as Ben met his eyes he swears he has never seen anyone as beautiful as Ben in this moment his eyes how the sparkle as if they are speaking to his soul and then it happened, he wasn't sure how or who went to who but they kissed so soft so gentle and that's when it changed everything, he finally pulls away smiling a proper genuine smile which is mirrored by Ben "I should get going" he almost whispers "but I'll see you tomorrow" slowly turning in his own heels he walks back towards the vic.

One inside and changed into joggers and a t-shirt he sits on his bed, knowing that full well his feelings will get in the way of all this, he knows he could never treat Ben like that even if he wanted, Ben had so many of his first loves personality, a little rough to look at but under all that a caring soul but he dismisses that thought almost as quickly as it came but he had to do everything in his power to ensure that his secret stays a secret and at least Ben Mitchell doesn't find out, but how far will Callum go to ensure this? And when he comes face to face with it what side of the fence is he on?

Ben lays in the darkness of his room, the kiss on reply in his mind, as he stares into the darkness he mumbles to himself 'Callum Highway, an accountant, a very handsome accountant just kissed me' a smile tugging at his lips, he falls asleep with that image pressed in his head. For now Ben Mitchell was the happiest guy in Walford.
