The sun kissed her skin with an ethereal light, its warmth clinging to her as if it craved her warmth. It kissed every inch of her, basking her in a glow that seemed almost unreal, an iridescent gleam that wove itself into the golden aura already surrounding her. The grass, soft and swaying with the flow of the wind, cradled her delicate frame as if the earth itself adored her presence. Tiny blades of green curled around her bare arms and legs, as if reluctant to let her go.
Her hair, long and light as silver, was tangled around two large raven horns. They curved back from her head, adorned with a delicate scattering of tiny flowers: pale blues, soft lilacs, and the gentle whites of daisies.
A breeze drifted through the open field, rustling the grass in gentle waves. It carried the scent of wildflowers and the sun warmed earth. Slowly, as if waking from a century long slumber, her long, light lashes fluttered.
And then, finally, her eyes opened.
They were breathtaking, a pair of the purest azure eyes, deep and endless, reflecting the vast sky above her. They flickered with something almost... human.
She turned her gaze upward, unblinking, staring directly into the blinding sun. Unlike other demons, who would shriek and wither beneath its touch, she welcomed it. The warmth did not burn her flesh. It did not reject her existence. Instead, it embraced her.
A soft yawn escaped her lips, her delicate fangs just barely peeking through as she stretched. Every movement she made was unhurried. She arched her back, feeling the stiffness in her limbs ease, and let out a satisfied sigh.
She was a paradox. A demon of the night who could bask in the light. A demon with the face of an angel.
But, she was scorned.
There was no demon alive who would not give their soul to possess what she had, a body that did not disintegrate at the sun's light, a power coveted by all of her kind. Some wished to understand her secret. Others wished to rip it from her.
But for now, none of that mattered.
As she laid beneath the open sky, bathing in light, she hoped the world believed, just for a moment, that she belonged in it.
