Chapter 1: Secluded Tragedy

Tanjirou was on his way home from taking the coal to town. Despite having been warned by a kind man of the demons that lurk around at night. But he would rather be at home with his family especially if a demon attack were to happen. As Tanjirou got closer to his home he smelt a very unfamiliar scent. He started to hurry as he heard the screams of his younger siblings and Mother. He dropped his basket and ran towards the small hut his family called a home. He grabbed an axe that was at the front door and jumped at the unfamiliar figure.

"Leave my family alone" He said as he slashed the back of the man's neck. 

"Aaah... Another sun bearer has come to me."

Tanjirou had no time to think of the phrase the man just used he had to defend his family.

"Everybody run" Tanjirou screamed.

Everyone tried to run out of the back entrance only to be swiftly murdered by the man. Tanjirou wept and fell to the ground giving up seeing his family die before his eyes. He could hear the slight rustling of someone in the closet and by the scent he recognized Nezuko. Please just let her survive he prayed. 

"I will spare the one in the closet so do not worry." The man said.

"And by the way, my name is Muzan Kibutsuji and from this day you will be Tanjirou Kibutsuji."

"And if I refuse?" Tanjirou asked.

"Then I shall kill the one in the closet." He said

"Okay just leave her alone, I will go with you but on one extra condition."

"Which is?..."

I shall not eat humans but demons instead."

"That is fine I could care less."

Tanjirou and Muzan walked into the woods together and Nezuko crawled out of the closet. Why would brother sacrifice himself for me? She wondered as she silently wept. 

Giyuu Tomioka came up to the small hut and the scent of blood immediately hit him. Shit he thought. But then he heard a small cry and he rushed over to the hut right away. He found a small girl crying next to her family which had been slaughtered.

"Are you alright?" He asked the girl.

 "I am but they aren't." she responded. "Will you help me bury them?"

Giyuu helped her carry the bodies to there graves. Then they had a little conversation after Nezuko finished praying. Then the sun began to rise.

"You should visit Mr. Urokodaki in the mountains not far from here." Giyuu suggested. "He can help you get back at the demon that did this to you."

"Okay I think I will." Nezuko responded.

And off they went to head down toward Urokodaki's house. Unfortunately on the way Giyuu was called to another mission and had to leave.

"Goodbye Giyuu." Nezuko said as she carried along on the path.

"Bye Nezuko." Giyuu said as he disappeared into the forest. Please let her be okay he prayed as he vanished into the darkness of the forest.
