Chapter 9~Missing?~

A/N: I figured that I'd update twice today for not being able to this past Sunday. Hope you enjoy!

At Gabriel's Office

He had never seen his son act like that. He was always so composed about everything. This Marinette girl must really mean a lot to him. He deeply regretted ever telling Adrien to break up with her. If she brought him that much joy and made him be able to stand up to his father, then she must love him just as much as he loves her. Gabriel went out of his office to Adrien's room to apologize. He knocked on the door. When no one answered he tried opening the door only to find it locked. He grabbed his keys and unlocked the door.

"Adrien. I just wanted to say..." He stopped mid-sentence. He looked around the room and in the bathroom and nothing. His son was gone. "Nathalie, get everyone out on the streets now. Adrien needs to be found."

"Right away, sir." She made several phone calls to all of Adrien's classmates, instructors as well as to the police to inform them of Adrien's disappearance. The last number that she called was that of the bakery that Marinette's parents owned.

"Hello, Tom & Sabine Boulangerie Patisserie. Sabine speaking. How may I help you?" Sabine spoke answering the phone.

"Hello, this is Nathalie, Gabriel and Adrien Agreste's assistant."

"Hello, Nathalie. You sound worried. Is there a problem?"

"Yes. It seems that Adrien has gone missing. There are currently search parties out to find him. I am calling to inform you in case Adrien may find his way to you as well as to ask for your help to find him."

"Of course, Nathalie. We'll help any way we can."

"Thank you, Madame Cheng," Nathalie said as she hung up the phone.

"Who was that?" Tom asked coming in from the other room.

"That was Nathalie, Gabriel and Adrien's assistant. Apparently Adrien has gone missing!"

"That's terrible. We need to tell Marinette. She should know about this."

"I'll go talk with her. You stay here and close up shop for the day," Sabine said as she ascended the stairs to go to her daughter's room. She knocked on the trapdoor and awaited a response.

Marinette and Adrien were sitting in complete silence in their own little world holding each other in their arms not wanting to ever let go. Then they heard knocking.

"Marinette! There's something that I have to talk to you about!" Sabine called from the other side of the trapdoor.

"Just a minute Mama!" She called as she mouthed the words hide to Adrien. Adrien ran up the ladder to Marinette's bed and hid under the covers. Just in time as well because Sabine was opening the door.

"Marinette, Nathalie just called the bakery. Apparently, Adrien has gone missing." Marinette knew exactly where Adrien was but she also knew that he wasn't ready to go back home yet to face his father.

"No!" Marinette exclaimed as she tried her best to act sad and like she didn't know anything. She turned away from her mother and sat down on her chaise cupping her face in her hands to conceal her eyes.

"Oh sweetie, It's ok. Everyone is looking for him right now. If he's still in Paris they will surely find him." Sabine hugged Marinette and wiped away the tears that were forming in Marinette's eyes. Sabine left to go downstairs. Tom had already prepared their coats and were about to go out in search of Adrien themselves.

"You can come out now," Marinette said. Adrien got up from her bed and went over to Marinette.

"I'm sorry that you had to lie to your parents about me being here. You have to admit though, you are one great actress."

"It's ok. I know that you aren't ready to go back and face your father. Not after what you've been through," Marinette said as she wrapped Adrien in a protective hug.

"Thank you, Marinette."

"Anytime, Adrien."

"I love you."

"I love you too. Whenever you're ready to face your father. I'll go with you." They both stayed in each others arms in a comforting silence. Marinette was the first to fall asleep. She snuggled up to Adrien unconsciously. Noticing that his lady was asleep. He picked her up and brought her to her bed. He laid her down gently to make sure that she didn't wake up and laid down with her holding her in his arms. Plagg had made his way to Tikki and they slept together in the makeshift bed Marinette made for Tikki. The four of them slept peacefully together while the rest of the city was wide awake frantically looking for Adrien.
