The graveyard was colder then it usually was this morning. Alda was crouched down in front of the gravestone with a rose in her hand. She placed the rose on top of the grave and placed a small message in front leaning it against the grave. She was sitting on the grave; the wind blew her hair in her face and she forced it behind her ear as the wind struggled to push it back in front of her eyes.
"Hello, I know it's been a while since we talked but I need to discuss something with you. It's Antony. I love him but I still love you and I don't want to let you go. Please tell me what to do. I need to know if what I'm doing is wrong or if loving him is wrong. Please just talk to me." She hung her head.
"It's not wrong." Said a voice from behind her. It was an old woman wrapped in warm clothing her flamey-orange hair that was bundled into a messy plait was just visible underneath her hood. She stood with a bouquet of roses in her hands. Alda had met this woman a multitude of times before her husband had died but since then she hadn't seen her. It was her husband's mother, Karen.
"He loved you very much, you know. I know that he wouldn't blame you for loving someone else. It's been 5 years since he died." Karen said stepping forward and placing the rose on the grave. Alda stood up and wiped the tears from her face. Karen looked at her sympathetically and hugged her. At first Alda stood there in shock then hugged her back. They pulled away from each other and looked at each other for a few moments.
"Well, I have to go." Said Alda. She walked past Karen and then got into her car and headed to the comic bookstore.
Antony stood at the counter looking bored. He had a Phantom comic book in his hand and he flicked through the pages solemnly. As Alda stepped into the comic bookstore the bell dinged and Antony looked up.
Alda nodded to the comic and he looked down at it, "Tony's favourite." She said as he looked back up at her.
"Yeah it was. I was thinking about him so I thought I might see what he was making such a fuss about." He replied. "Sorry, what do you need? A comic? Some advice? Help with Bruno?"
"To talk to you."
"Oh."
"Do you have a minute." He came from around the counter.
"Sure, come through to the back." They walked through to the back room and he closed the door behind them. The room was very empty with the chairs just stacked up in a corner. "What did you want to talk about?"
"Us." Alda replied. She suddenly felt ill, like this was the wrong thing to do. "I was stupid for what I did to you on that date you took me on. I realise that. At the time I felt like what I was doing was wrong. I didn't want to lose Tony. I also don't want to lose you. I've made my decision, I'm okay with us now. But if you're not ready—-" She was cut off by Antony walking across the room and kissing her. She stood frozen then kissed him back. He broke off the kiss and they stared at each other and she blushed and grinned. He walked over to a small radio it was one of the old ones that you would most likely find in an 80s or 90s electronics store. The only difference was that this one had a connector at the back that allowed him to connect his phone. He played the song "This Town" by Niall Horan. He started to slow dance with her and she blushed. It started to poor down outside and the glass was now covered with speckles of rain.
Once the song ended they pulled away from each other and he kissed her on the cheek. She blushed and then he walked out to grab something. He came back hands behind his back.
"I found these a little while ago, I was going to give them to you at the end of our date but I didn't really get a chance." He pulled out photos of Tony and Antony when the comic bookstore opened, the comic book club photo, their wedding photo, all the birthday photos of the member of the comic book club. Tears welled up in her eyes as she remembered all the good time she had. The last one was a letter. She unfolded it and started to read it:
