Chapter 2

After having the majority of the day, and afternoon to think during school, Nashimi was now debating whether or not she wanted to hear what her father was going to tell her. Upon entering her homes estate once more through the large Metallic gate that bordered the manor, the driver had pulled the limo to a halt infront of the main entrance, and proceeded to open the door for her after getting out of the limo. After opening the door to her home she was greeted by her father, who seemed to have been waiting for her in the living room, before she could say a word he guided her to the couch, and sat her down.

Nashimi knew she wasn't going to be able to get out of this now, so she sat there, and watched as he took a seat next to her, and had a now seemingly serious look on his face. She nodded slightly to give him the okay, once she had done that he held her hand softly, began to speak "Nashimi ever since you were little I have had to protect you". She looked at him while holding her fathers hand, it was starting to shake, as she suddenly felt him tighten his grasp on it.

She looked at him surprised while he was struggling to get his words out, as she was staring at him in silence, as he suddenly started to cry. Tears were streaming down both sides of his face "The reason.. the real reason you were sent here, to live with me is because of your mother's lineage". Her father's eyes widened as he saw Nashimi start to giggle as one of the tears fell from his face, and onto his suit "This is not a laughing matter Nashimi!!!".

Nashimi's sudden giggling had stopped once her father had said that " I-I'm..." her father smiled and held her shoulders softly "It's alright but you were sent here cause there were, are some very bad people that would have gone after you, if your grandmother Shizumi had not acted as quickly as she did...I would have lost the last speck of light I had in this world". Nashimi felt her dad pull her into his arms to hug her, he was holding the back of her head while whispering to her calmly, and softly "Your mother was from a village very far from Japan, she was from a line of noble families within that village, and that village was...very different so to speak from usual ones".

Nashimi's eyes were filling with tears the same as her father's were ,"what do you mean different, what do these people have against our family, and why did mom-" before she could get the last few words out of her mouth the door bell rang. Maximilian looked at the door then back at nashimi "stay here" he then walked slowly over to the door and looked through the peephole at the top. Nashimi watched as her father opened the door, and to her surprise her grandmother Shizumi was standing there.

She was a short lady with snow white hair tied back in a bun, wearing a simple blue kimono with white snow flakes on it, she was rather frail looking yet her face was stern and fixated on Nashimi who was still sitting on the couch. Shizumi walked to her granddaughter, and took a seat next to her on the couch "Well it has been some time since I have seen you dear, I'm sure you remember me right?". She was smiling happily at her beloved granddaughter, and took something from her kimono sleeve, as Nashimi looked at what she had taken out it was a small rose gold harp.

Shizumi held the small harp infront of her smiling at Nashimi, then turned her head to look at Maximilian "Did you tell her everything?" Maximilian rubbed the back of his head nervously smiling, while looking back at her "Well almost heh-". Shizumi sighed "Figures your still like this after all these years". He glared a bit "After all this time you can't give me a little credit, I spent all these years keeping her away from them, and suddenly they find her after 12 years...".

Nashimi then shot up from the couch "WHAT ARE YOU ALL TALKING ABOUT JUST TELL ME ALREADY WHO IS THEM, AND WHY ARE THEY AFTER ME!?" her grandmother looked at her shocked from the sudden outburst. Shizumi gazed down then put her attention on Nashimi once more, a soft serious expression had taken to her face "You are of noble blood my dear, the last of us in the line that holds a connection with the ancient spirit of the shrine in our village." She then pointed to the discolored patches in Nashimi's hair "haven't you wondered why they are white, and shaped like cherry blossoms? That is the symbol of the bond between you, and our shrine spirit Sayorine the spirit of the Frozen Blossom Shrine".

Her grandmother held her hands putting the small harp into Nashimi's grasp " Your mother had them to, this harp she would play upon the edge of the mountain, near the shrine where we would bury those that had passed, she did this cause she said it helped lost souls find their way home". Nashimi looked at the harp while holding it, let one of her fingers run across one of the silver strings "So this was..." her grandmother nodded " You have more power then you think my dear, the people that are after you want to use you for their wicked plans, they are not as they appear my child". Nashimi's eyes widened "wait if mother had these....then-"

Her grandmother looked at her as pain and sorrow flooded her face "Yes my dear those people kidnapped your mother to use her powers, so she did what she had to do, to prevent it she used all she had, prayed to Sayorine to severe their connection and tie one with you, after they realized what she did they had no use for her....so they...". Nashimi's face was flooded with grief, as she placed the harp on the cushion of the couch, held her head trying to make sense of it all. She looked up at her grandmother while she was rubbing her back "She....sacrificed herself to protect the village...but how did you know about it?".

Shizumi looked at Maximilian as he gave her a nod "I could hear Sayorine's voice.....she informed me of what my daughter did, you were visiting me at the time so I guess that's why your mother brought you over that day before it happened....she knew". Maximilian walked over to the couch and was standing infront of his daughter, who was shaking from everything that she was just told " I want you to go back with your grandmother to the village...they know where you are now, it's only a matter of time before they act". Nashimi looked at her father, and grandmother not sure what to even say anymore, all she could think of was how much her mother gave for her to get away, to live the life she had been for so long.

After a long pause Nashimi nodded, started towards the stairwell, was stopped by her father. Maximilian shook his head at her "If they do come they will notice youf things missing...your grandmother will have clothes, food, and everything you need for you at her home in the village, I will miss you so much....my sakura petal but till they stop their pursuit......this is goodbye I will always love you please keep living your life". Shizumi led her granddaughter out of the house after Nashimi said her goodbyes, as she was walking out of the gate she took one last look at her father, as he was standing on the porch "Till we meet again this wont be forever I promise".
