"Sensual"

Trigger warning ⚠️: drug abuse, sexual suggestions, OD, and violence

I started to walk home from school. It's been a long day for me. Every class was terrible, and I got detention, but I'm not going. When I got home, I did my routine check to see if anything fell apart while I was at school and if my car was still there, thank God it was. I live in an old house; it was a bit rundown, but I grew up in this house. I can't just move out because I'm on my own with no parents. My mother overdosed about five years ago when they were only one year old, and they are triplets; since then, it's just been my three younger siblings, my best friends, and me.

She struggled with depression for a long time, and I tried to help her as much as possible, but there was only so much I could do. I had to take online classes till I could put them in daycare. My mom had always saved money up for my college fund, but that was a long time ago when she had a decent-paying job. I do miss my mother, and I will always love her. She was everything to me.

...

Walking outside to pick up the three kids I call siblings from school. While I would drive, I like to save gas, so I only drive my car on certain days and if I have to work. I didn't wait long for them once I got to their school. They love school but love me more. I thought as I heard them yelling in unison and running toward me, engulfing me in a hug. All of them try talking to me all at once.  "Hey, you three, how did your guys' day go," I said,  expecting them to all answer simultaneously. "School was fine, I guess. We learned math stuff, and that was boring." Mason seemed enthusiastic about math. I chuckled a little "Well, isn't that interesting" I told him and started walking while signaling the three of them to come with me. We walked halfway home. Alice asked what was for dinner. "I don't know yet it's gonna be good though," knowing I'll have enough to make a meal for tonight.

We finally made it home after what seemed like hours of walking. The kids go to their room to do homework while I cook dinner. They share a room. Money is not abundant here; I am the only person with a paying job. I sigh and start looking for ingredients for tonight's dinner.

"ALICE, DERRICK, MASON!" I yelled from the kitchen. I heard their feet running across the floor, a little yelling, someone falling, and a loud bang. "Hey!" I shouted up the stairs, the yelling stopped, and they came downstairs. Wonder who's hurt now? I feel myself rolling my eyes, mentally preparing myself for the three arguing over whoever is wrong or right. It has only been about an hour since we got home. I've cooked dinner baked chicken, corn,  and mashed potatoes with gravy on the side.

"Alice pushed Derrick. I don't know why," Mason said, which caused an argument among the three. "No, he pulled my hair, and you saw Mason. Don't lie for him!" Alice yelled, pointing at Derrick. These three were too much for me, not caring that they were still yelling at each other. "Alice is lying. She just pushed me for no reason!" Derrick said, waving his hands and deciding to end the little argument. "Hey, just say sorry so we can eat, Or I'll eat all the food," I teased. "Hey?!" they said in unison, looking at me in shock as if they believed me. "Say you're sorry," I say more assertively. This time they all said sorry and hugged even though I said nothing about embracing. "Okay, let's eat," I said, walking to the table and putting our dinner on the plates.

I cleaned up after dinner while they were getting ready for bed. After cleaning up, tucking them in for bed and kissed them goodnight, knowing they'd be out like a light. As soon as I left their room, I changed into all black. I was putting on an old black t-shirt, black hoodie,  ripped jeans, and black and white Vans. I put my curly honey-blond hair in a low pony, grabbing my backpack and phone. I slowly tiptoe down the stairs and out the front door locking it behind me. I quickly get into my black Honda, speeding off into the night.
