warrior Cats -Open Eyes -

Chapter 2

"Raw im a badger !' crimsonkit yowled as her sister tried darting behind her .

"Ah! Skykit , what was that for ?" crimsonkit screeched pulling herself up from the ground.

"You WERE a badger " she purred in amusement . skykit pulled her paw over her face and curled her tail neatly around her paws . She shot up her ears when she heard her mother returning to the nursery and squeaked in excitement . the two kits scuffle at their mothers paws .

"Still at it you two?" she purred . Picking crimsonkit up by the scruff and pretended to drop her . crimsonkit squeaked in alarm and shut her eyes tight but then realised she was still being help by her mother .

Purring in amusement silvertail set her down . " Fawnstar would like to appoint you two as apprentices tomorrow " she mewed proudly . skykit scuffed her paws .
"Silvertail ? " She mewed shyly .silvertail let her blue-green eyes rest on her sky blue ones .
"Yes?" She replied smoothly
"D-do you think ill make a good medicine cat apprentice ? it's just that mistleleaf is so good , I'm scared ill never be as good as her " she looked at her nervously .

Purring in amusement she licked her between the ears .
"I think you'll be amazing " her gaze warmed skykit . Skykit suddenly was on her back and crimsonkit yowled in triumph.
" I'm going to be the best warrior in the whole clan ! even better than eagleheart " flinching at the deep voice that sounded round the nursery .

"Really now young crimsonkit ? a better warrior than me ?" a golden furred Tom with lighter and darker stripes and spots all over his body . a pale yellow from his muzzle to his underbelly squeezed into the nursery .Crimsonkit made a playful glare at eagleheart and got down into a close to good crouch . eagleheart does the same and the two scuffle at each other playfully .

I'd never want to hurt any cat it's just not for me ...

Silvertail flicked them both .

"Crimsonkit , be quiet will you fernheart and frecklekit are in here to " she mewed angrily and pointed her ears to a dark brown she-cat with lighter brown stripes along her back , tail and around the sides of her face . fernheart slowly blinked open her dark green eyes at all the racket but closes them again .a small light brown body scuffled around ,dark brown spots all over the young Tom-kit and his hazel eyes shutting again as he snuggled up to fernheart again.

Herding crimsonkit and skykit out of the nursery , crimsonkit pipes up again .
"Who's going to be MY mentor ?" she asked excitedly .

"Sootfur , now go " she mewed irritably. crimsonkits tail drooped .

" I WAS hoping that eagleheart was going to be my mentor "she muttered half to herself . Skykit rested her the tip if her tail on crimsonkits shoulder .

Skykit could say nothing to help crimsonkit , she knew who her mentor washing to be and she knew she would have a completely different life to crimsonkits .

Shadows began to form around the camp as the sun glittered down an the moon jerked awake .

" c'mon we'll be apprentice tomorrow and I want to be wide awake AND I want to impress sootfur , to show him what he'll be dealing with " skykit purred .

Oh I hope she's easy on him .

Padding side by side silver tail was waiting for them outside of the nursery , eyes full of pride but the dark figure next to her startled skykit a bit when one ember eye glowed from the darkness . When the figure walked into the moonlight she saw it was only her dad, darkeye .

"I'm very proud of you both " he bent down and liked them both , purring as he did .

Skykit pushed her head up further so she could brush her pelt with his . Skykit and crimsonkit huddled up close in their nest and quick as lighting sleep washed her away .

Skykit stretched in her new surroundings . the grass fresh and green and all the trees were in full growth and beautiful .

"Greetings young one " a pure white she-cat padded up to her , her fresh green gaze made skykit shiver .

"Who are you?" she tilted her head to one side .

"I am greengaze , a former warrior of willowclan but now I hunt with starclan" skykit gasped .

"But I'm not even a medicine cat apprentice yet , why would you want to speak to me ?" she gawked

The stary she-cat said nothing but turned and flicked her tail for her to follow. skykit padded after her , her paws felt as light as a feather as she padded on over a grassy moor .

Stopping at the top she looked down at the ground , greengaze took a deep breath.

"Skykit ,mistleleaf knows one thing you will never understand . the ground is were you live but never be afraid to visit the sky's . would you like to stay in starclan ... forever ?" skykit stepped back .

"Now! but - but I'm only just about to become a Medicaid cat apprentice! I'm dead arn't I ?" Greengaze purred in amusement .

'No skykit , what I mean is " she trailed off and took in a long breath .

"You won't understand yet " she sighed and her body began to fade .

"I will , i promise ! don't go yet !" her eyes stretched wide as she reached out to try grasp the invisible cat .

A dark image of crimsonkit appeared .
She was lying dead next to a cat she couldn't see clearly , only piercing blue eyes glowed from the blood splattered around his eyes and the rest of his body covered as well so she couldn't see his pelt .

"Let me sleep " crimsonkit kicked her on her leg then rolled over .

"Seriously it's as if starclan are giving you messages already" she grumbled before sleep washed crimsonkit over again.
