"Yo Bulldozer! Go long!" the huge guy with striped green and black shirt boomed as his friend ran as far away from him as possible. He tossed the football and the curly haired guy caught it swiftly but not before shooting a wink at some girls nearby. They began giggling as they watched the exchange.
How are their panties not seen in those shorts?! Those barely covered anything! I shuddered internally.
The university was filled with people, luggages and boxes were everywhere. I've been sitting on this bench for 10 minutes now, waiting for Jason to come so that we can both settle into our room. I did not wake up at 3:30 am for nothing. I was already glad I got a couple more hours of sleep in the 4-hour drive here to compensate for my two hour sleep last night. I'm practically running on caffeine now. Where was he? The later he gets here, the longer we'll have wait to get settled in. I was beginning to think his parents finally came to their senses and made Jason-
"VEEEEEEEEEE!" a male voice I've grown to know yelled as he rushed towards me with his backpack on, carrying two boxes with one arm and his luggage in tow. His muscles bulging as he struggled to keep the two boxes balanced.
"I'm so sorry!" Jason panted, placing the boxes on the ground. "Mom wouldn't stop crying and worrying about everything. I gave hug her at home and she wouldn't let me go, saying 'she's going to lose her baby boy'," he rolled his eyes but you can tell how much affection he has for his mom by the way he spoke of her. "I hope you don't mind. They're coming in a bit, they just dropped me off up front.. they're looking for a parking space now. They want to see the room and help us both move in," he smiled sheepishly.
I smiled, "No, no, it's cool. We definitely need a couple of hands," I gestured towards all our boxes and luggages - or atleast my boxes. His were probably still in their car, there was no way THAT was all he brought. "My parents are looking for a parking space as well. This place is packed and it's only 8 o'clock!" I looked at my watch, amazed at how long it's taking them.
"Should we wait for them or shall we go ahead?" I looked around and pointed at the building with my thumb.
Silence.
I looked at Jason and saw him staring at the group of girls watching the two jocks throwing the football back and forth. Ugh. Boys.
I rolled my eyes and with a heavy sigh, I picked up a small pebble near my feet and chucked it at him. It hit his head, just as where I targetted. It's great to know I've still got it, I chuckled mischievously
"What the fudge?" he blinked as he rubbed the side of his head. He looked around and realized it was me when he saw my pointed look. "I'm just looking out for you little bro. Can't have your innocent little eyes ogle at a couple of girls wearing age-inapproriate clothing. Such small shorts in the fall!" I tsk-ed, shaking my head. My eyes filled with mirth.
He glared at me and grabbed his suitcase. "Let's just go," he mumbled as he started walking away. I let him reach halfway towards another building before calling him back, "Jason!" he turned with a bored look on his face. "Gerland hall is that way," I chuckled, pointing at the building to my right. He squinted his eyes at me but went anyway.
I looked back at the parking lot area and saw our parents coming with boxes in hand plus two more bags. I whipped my head back to call Jason but was too late when I saw him enter the double doors.
I sighed and turned towards Mr. and Mrs. Harwood. "Hi," I waved. " Hello Elvyra," they smiled. "Where's Jason?" Mrs. Harwood asked. "He just left. Went inside the hall to get the keys for the dorm room. He should be back in a bit." I explained.
We waited by the bench for almost 10 minutes waiting for Jason to come back. Our parents whispering to each other, their eyes flickering towards the building and every now and then at me. Whenever they catch me looking, they smile briefly before returning to their conversation. That went on for a while until I got tired of waiting for an explanation. They don't seem to want me in on whatever it is their talking about anyway.
