This was it, the perfect date, Jack thought. He had been planning it for a while now- Merida and him had been an “official” couple for just over two weeks now. All dates so far had turned sour. But this was it, this would be the perfect date where he would sweep that crazy red head off her feet and make her swoon.
So they walked, he had picked up Merida from her huge house. It wasn’t a house really as a mansion. Apparently back in Scotland and Dunbroch’s had a castle . Since there was no such thing in the place they were now in, a large mansion by the lake sufficed as the Dunbroch’s summer home.
As Fergus tried to make the boy feel small and get to know him more, being fatherly as normal, Merida had pushed the white haired date out the door and waved goodbye to her mother and father before they had time to question the witty and silly teenager lad.
'So where are we goin'?' The Scottish girl asked as they looked at each other. Jack Frost couldn't help but smile. Her round face was so sweet when it smiled, her freckles kisses from the sun. Her voice was kind and he loved the sound of each word.
'I was thinking dinner and then a walk along the beach?' Jack explained with a playful wink. It was true, he did want the strong red head to swoon at how romantic he could be.
of course it had been hiccup’s idea but that was besides the point.
'Well, laddie.' Merida laughed a little. 'That sounds rather nice.' her hand was warm in his and she looked very nice in a rare blue summer dress. Merida didn't like dresses much, she lived her life in jeans and tops. There was one dress she adored, her old archer's dress that she went to renaissance fairs in. So to see her in a blue summer dress flowing around her legs- he felt very privileged.
'I'm rather nice.' he gave another little wink before raising her hand and kissing the back of it before he linked his fingers with hers as they walked.
Together they strolled though town, passing book stores, the sports store Merida worked part time at. Clothing stores where they joked about how undies come in denim these days
They hadn’t even reached the restaurant yet and Jack felt like he was the perfect boyfriend. Everything was going so smoothly, until Merida pulled her hand out of his.
'Sorry, sweaty hands. lad.' Merida smiled up at him.
'OH I get it.' Jack grumbled, 'you don't want to hold my yucky sweaty hand.'
Merida frowned, her anger rising. ‘No it was my hand that was sweaty because I had just come back from a horse ride and didn’t get to shower because you were half an hour early for our date!’ she snapped back. ‘So I’m a little sweaty and just wanted to wipe it on me dress!’
'WELL sorrrrrrrry that I was excited for this perfect date and wanted everything to be perfect. I forgot you damn girls needed so much primping time!’ he threw his hands up in the air.
'PRIMPING!?' Merida's voice was rising. 'PRIMPING?! I DO NOT PRIMP!’ she was scowling now and a few people glanced at them as they walked by. ‘You KNOW I go on a horse ride every day and sorry I didn’t want to SMELL And be all SWEATY for our date!’ she pushed him in the chest. Jack took a step back.
'Oh gosh well i'm SO SORRY princess.' Jack replied sarcastically waving his arms about. 'I forgot you were so prefect and that we all had to obey for your rules and couldn't get excited over anything!'
"OH YOU BLOODY GIT!’ Merida retorted, she was furious. ‘Lets just go on this idiot date of yours.’
'Fine!' jack yelled, throwing his arms up in the air.
'FINE!' Merida yelled back before they started walking again. Grumbling little insults to each other as they went, but neither of them could hide that sneaking smile on their lips.
