Warmth

She was a princess. But not the ordinary one who was locked away in a tower, protected by a handful of knights in steel armor and amazed by the of littlest things.

No, her personality was far from those types.

Instead, she's the type of princess that would fight for her own right, one that's amazingly skilled at archery and have that crooked quirky smile she would like to give him. In response, he would always smirk at her with his pale-pink lips.

Whenever she goes out for her archery training, he would quietly watch, his pale slender figure would lean on a trunk of a tree, watching the girl she got her bull's eyes, she would smile at his direction, and of course, he would smirk and nod as response.

That was their way of communication.

At times, she missed the middle circle, she would tousle her fiery red bird's-nest of a hair in frustration and he would only chuckle at her temper.

She was truly one of a kind, he thought.

But there were times when the pair would sit under a tree and watch the sky's orange hues turn to blue then black. They would watch the stars slowly appear and the clouds disperse as they always do.

"You cold?" He asked, his gaze fixed on the sky, not at her.

"No." She said quietly, a small heat cloud coming out of her mouth.

Jack would sigh and his right arm would wrap around Merida's shoulders. Her head would then lean on his shoulder as she closed her eyes shut. He would smile at her action, not bothered that her curly locks were crawling towards his face.

"You're cold." She whispered, making herself comfortable in his arms.

"But you're making me feel warm…" He would whisper in response, giving out a content sigh and a smile, his eyes too, would close.

The wind's icy breath would brush against their skin, reminding them that it's early winter but the pair won't mind. For they have each other's warmth and each other
