Friends and Crushes

"Just talk to her It's not hard i swear.." I was trying so hard to talk toby into at least talking to stacie. We were at the only cafe in this town called pop's place. The owner was a single dad of A daughter and a son, one of which being stacie. She normally preformed at this cafe. She was a couple of tables away with some of her friends. "no, maybe when she is alone." It shocks me how is with stacie. He is such a confident guy. I just shook my head and took a couple sips of my warm bitter coffee.

"hey dudes!" my sister walked up and sat in our booth. She always looked so dressed up and pretty. "hey sis.." she smiled at me. "so i have something to tell you guys!!" we both looked at her waiting for her to finish.."im getting out of this bum town!" she said enthusiastically. "Take me with you?" toby joked with a wide smile. That always gets the ladies attention.

She flipped her hair..she is such a girl.."How are you going to afford going anywhere other than Hopecreek community college?" i asked dumbfounded. She practically laughed in my face. "Im not going to college silly." I just stared at her blankly. I really hope she is joking. "what do you mean you aren't going to college??" i snapped. Her face fell into  a frown. "why are you so upset about this??" i shook my head angry as can be. She was just gonna skip town? probably with her boyfriend. Ugh. I was so annoyed. "you are going to ruin you'r life amy..." that set her off. she slapped her hands on the table and stood up "screw you aria. little miss perfect." then she stormed off. a few people looked over, i just placed my face into my palms.

Toby comforted me. "hey it's alright aria, she is a big girl..she is going to make choices that you aren't going to like sometimes.." i shook my head. "She is being foolish toby." he nodded and rubbed my back. "what did the the muffin in the oven say to the other muffin?" My face twisted in complete confusion. What the heck was he talking about??  I just continued to stare at him. "Man its hot in here! the other muffin yelled ahh a talking muffin!!" He smiled so big like he just told the best joke on earth. I just busted up laughing. It wasn't so much the joke, but how cute he was about trying to make me feel better.

I laid my head on his shoulder. I just wanted to make everything right in life. My mom, My sister..i just want to make everyone happy. But that is impossible. He kissed the top of my head. He is the best thing that has ever happened to me, having him as a friend. Moments later a waiter came up to us..he must have been new. I haven't seen him in our school, or around town.

he hand sandy blonde hair brown eyes and an adorable smile. Hmm.."hey can i get you a refill?" he asked happily. I don't know what got into me, but i suddenly perked right up. "yeah..that'd be cool!" i handed him my mug. he chuckled then walked away. Toby started laughing. "what??" i questioned defensively. he shook his head "that'd be cool" he mimicked. I punched his arm playfully. "maybe i will let you get a score, I'm gonna go talk to stacie." i smiled so wide my face hurt. "seriously??"i enthused. "nope" he said standing. I frowned.

The waiter came back a minute later with my coffee mug "thanks" i took the hot cup and sat it down. "you new around her?" i asked fidgeting with my mug. He smiled again. "yeah, kinda I moved here awhile ago" Hmm very interesting. A new kid..we didn't get many of those. "oh, well have you had an official tour of the town yet??" i wasn't to sure where this huge boost of confidence was coming from, but i loved it! "actually no..maybe you can change that?" his voice is so sexy! i nodded a little eager "what time do you get off?" i asked. he looked at the clock on the wall. "in half an hour." i nodded very pleased about this. "alright well, why don't we do it in half an hour." I was filled with excitement i never talked to guys, i was never very good in that area..not like my sister. "sounds good" he smiled one more time then walked away.

30 minutes later he came walking out. he really is a doll. he looks like a Calvin Klein model! how did i end up so lucky to be spending the afternoon with him? We walked down main street of Hopecreek. the town really is a pretty place, and the creek is huge. and beautiful. "this is the library, and down the street is the Dr. office..then the super market a couple blocks fro that..." we walked down towards the creek "and then of course, the creek." he had his hands in his pockets nodding. He was so quiet and i was talking his ear off. we ended up sitting by the creek. "This town is cozy..i like small places." i nodded. This was so nice, meeting someone new. And extremely hot!

"where are you from?" i asked genuinely curios. he stared at the creek, he looked serious. "somewhere way far from here.." hmm attractive and mysterious. i leaned back using my arms as a clutch. I am usually so shy, but i guess i saw something interesting about this guy.."My name is aria by th way.." i laughed realizing we havent even introduced ourselfs. "im henry." henry..cute. Well aria, i should head back. thanks for the tour..he stood and started to walk away. i stood to suddenly feeling kind of sad..I thought he might want to hang out again. He then turned right around. "wanna go on a date?" he said nervously. Wow. that actually took me by surprise. I just nodded. He smiled, "alright..meet me here at seven pm tonight" i just noddd again and waved as he walked away.

I went home so happy! i actually had a stinking date. How amazing was that! When i walked in the door i saw my mom sitting at the table. She didnt move when i walked in. "hey mom.." i said softly..she still didnt move. I suddenly felt panick. I walked in front of her. Thank God she was fine. She smiled at me. "hey sweetie." she said softly..she actually sounded sobber. "hey mom..you okay?" she nodded and smiled. Then she pushed a piece of hair behind my ear. "you look just like your dad." Those words hurt my heart, stung pretty bad. i shut my eyes and put my head down trying really hard not to cry. "im going to start dinner.." she said standing. "oh im going out!" i said already walking toward my room. "alright sweetie..have fun."
